Based on style, the boxing writers' 90's Fighter of the Decade said he believes he would've beaten Mayweather, but would encounter more of a challenge figuring out Pacquiao.

If you think Mayweather is fast, Roy is even faster and I don't mean machinegun-like speed. Roy can land a punch even before anyone of the two could anticipate it. And Roy's style is hands-down confusing. I'm from the Philippines but a fan of boxing first, and I think Roy Jones Jr was in a better and higher level than Floyd is at their peaks. Thanks, Roy, for some great fights you've given us fans!
I lean toward him stopping Pac and winning a near shutout UD vs. Mayweather.

when anyone says that roy jones haas great fundamentals but floyd doesn't, they should be taken to the wood shed and left there. Kill yourself and stop watching boxing....please
Originally posted by pac2 View PostRoy Jones always had a great jab and constantly went to the body i'm not talking about a big shot here and there to the body but always went to the body to set up his shots . Roy had great defense too.
Mayweather cant deal with fighters who have fast hands, and who have a jab like Roy had and who had defense like Roy had. Mayweather has lead feet too he would just stand there and Roy would tee off on him. Roy's defense was so great counter puncher's wouldn't be able to touch him.
Roy was a cerebral fighter like marquez
James Toney wasn't weight drained
Roy wasn't hating on Mayweather in an interview
A fighter like Mayweather can't deal with speed and cant make adjustments has no defense and can fight only one style.
Mayweather just relies on his speed his fundamentals are horrible.
Roy always had great boxing fundamentals

Roy's is more confident he'd beat manny despite his style. roy said manny's style would be more difficult for him because he already fought and defeated Toney and he thinks floyd and toney have the same style,
SO we agree he said manny's style would be more difficult, but we should also be able to agree he is more conficent beating manny then he is floyd, since he said he'd PROBABLY beat floyd and didn't say probably when reffering to beating manny.
There is no possible way you can argue anything else.
