Also I think Mayweather just says a lot of stuff to rattle peoples emotions. Boxers are no different than politicians IMO. Mayweather comes from the old school fight game/era, he respects the great HOF fighters. I don't think him saying he is better than any fighter of the past is disrespectful at all, why not say it if you believe it and you have been nearly flawless in the sport of boxing your entire career & you've learned all the methods and tricks from the old school fight era.

Mayweather paid for Fraziers funeral. Where was George Foreman with all his grill money? Where was Don King? Bob Arum? All of Fraziers sparring partners or opponents? When it was all said and down it was Mayweather jr who stepped up to the plate and handled funeral expenses for the late great Joe Frazier.

None of these fighters are jealous of the money Floyd is making.

Roy is the first boxer, at least to my knowledge, to take full control of his career and has made a ton of money doing so. He also had one of the greatest deals a fighter has ever had with HBO....so Roy is as well of as any fighter.

Roy still fights, not because of the money (which he has a ton of) but due to his competitive nature and the fact that boxing is really all he knows.

Pacquiao walked through Cottos best shots, RJJ did not walk through Johnson's or Tarver's shots.

Are you arguing that Roy has a great chin?

If you are you are on your own, doubt if even Roy will agree with you.
The same argument you made for Pac is the same one that can be made for Roy Jones jr.

Not till age 35 AFTER he already loss 40lbs of muscle was he knocked out. Roy never had chin problems before he dropped down to LHW from HW.

I have heard other greats stated Mayweather would be a tougher fight, and IMO, these guys know their own weaknesses and things they struggled with, so who are we to question their opinion.

There is also proof to this, because on numerous occasions, Roy spoke on the difficulties in fighting a southpaw and awkard fighters.

Also, Ray has stated and has show that aggressive fighters give him problems.

Both stated they would beat Manny and Floyd, which is true....so I really don't see what the problem is.

Hopkins said the same thing. Mayweather easy, Pacquiao a tough fight

However, he says just about anything to discredit fighters and is very disrespectful as well. Do you honestly think these guys would not be turned off by Floyd's comments?

People (Floyd nuthuggers) act like these old fighters hate floyd because they are jealous or some other b.s.

For example, for no apparent reason, Floyd went up to SRL and disrespected him (to his face) by belittling his career.

I remember Ray stated he simply didn't like the guy after that, however, I still see SRL be unbaised when discussing Floyd's career.

It's **** like that as to why many don't like him and that has nothing to do with hyping up fights.
I will respond with the hopes you accept the response. Floyd discussed in detail on 24/7 how Bob Arum had him, SRL and ODH on a plane together and how he knew SRL was fake back then when he watched him on the plane. SO you can't say SRL is un biased, respectfully.

So SRL has a reason, but not the other guys. Its their reaction to floyd saying he is the best. AGain, floyd can be a real a$$hole sometimes so I get it.

That's not fair to Roy as it's clear his chin went south due to him dropping down in weight.

Roy was never "chinny" during his career and handled punches fairly well until he went to HW and then dropped back down again.

I would have never predicted Tarver or Johnson to KO him, however anyone who saw Roy new something was different when he returned to LHW. Some say they saw him show signs of aging in the Ruiz fight (although I disagree with that comment).

I never said they were jealous. Did I type that in my post? I don't believe so.

Also Mayweathers deal with HBO> Roys

Roy Jones Jr. versus the IRS

Let's get the obvious out of the way: Y'all musta forgot to pay your taxes.

Jones (54-7, 40 KO) reportedly owes the IRS $3.5 million, which might help to explain why he recently and somewhat suddenly signed up for a very risky fight in Russia against Denis Lebedev in May. Jones had a rough 2010 in the ring from a financial standpoint, as he made almost no money whatsoever from his April fight with Bernard Hopkins, and a later date with Danny Santiago, which he admitted wasn't going to make much, was called off.

At 42, Jones has limited in-ring earning power left, but he also returned full-time to the HBO boxing team this year, which should help soften the blows over time. The fight with Lebedev should get him a decent chunk of change, too, a nice cash injection
              .

What was his weight again for the Ruiz fight and what was his ring weight for the Tarver fight?

And Pacquiao proved he can take big punches?

                Has Roy?

His reflexes stopped him getting hit with anything big.

You still think Roy has a great chin?

                • But roy didn't say manny would be a tough fight, He said he'd probably beat floyd and he would beat manny. So its not like he is saying floyd is an easy fight and manny a tough one.

Yeah I know I just love that Picture, Roy was my favorite fighter in the 90s and this will forever be etched into my memory...... and I think RJJ should've retired after Tarver 1.....
