Complete and utter revisionist history. JMM was offered a career high purse to fight Naz on the night that Naz ended up fighting Augie Sanchez. There are quotes from him and Nacho saying they needed more time to prepare.
Over time, the myth has grown that Naz ducked him because of that mercenary whore Manny Steward.Comment

People saying Marquez was some notoriously ducked guy is humorous to me.Complete and utter revisionist history. JMM was offered a career high purse to fight Naz on the night that Naz ended up fighting Augie Sanchez. There are quotes from him and Nacho saying they needed more time to prepare.

What I don't get is what the **** is Manny Steward talking about?Comment

The guy is a whore. He will stab his own fighters in the back to hype someone else. I remember when he publicly called out Lennox to rematch Vitali a couple of years ago. Steward wasn't even supposed to be Naz's trainer. Yet he tried to make it all about him.
As for Marquez, he turned down the fight with Naz just like he turned down an immediate rematch with Pacquiao to fight Chris John for peanuts in the Indonesian wilderness. He was poorly advised throughout his career.Comment

I think it's funny how the legend of Naz has grown, it's almost as bad as Tyson's legend. Naz can now beat anyone under 150lbs....lol
JMM gives Naz an even worse boxing lesson than Barrera did, it's not even close. He was more careful than Barrera and much more skilled counter puncher which is perfect for the style Naz brings.
Of course Naz has a punchers chance but skill wise, it's not very close.
JMM by clear UD.Comment

Nothing but truth in this post. Since when has Manny Steward ever been involved in the Princes negotiations? The short answer is never....and even tho he was his trainer for a few fights, Steward himself stated Naz rarely listened to the advice he gave him (which led to Steward wanting to walk out on him). The guy is a whore. He will stab his own fighters in the back to hype someone else. I remember when he publicly called out Lennox to rematch Vitali a couple of years ago. It's pretty d@mn obvious that 99% of this board are new fans who just pull up boxrec and youtube for their source of past events, when posters, such as yourself, actually followed the sport then.Comment

Of course you want because your a Marquez fan boy. I mean it's obvious you just started to follow the guy (no offense, but it's clear as day).
However, I never of JMM, MAB, Morales and Hamed since the late 90's and followed those weight classes closes.
Morales and Hamed never ducked JMM. Your basing your opinion off of youtube....and I'm basing mines of the fact that I followed those negotiations, when they happened, and I'm telling you what their promoters and managers were saying at that time.Comment
