I swear the people that say "Floyd hasn't taken risks, hasn't fought anyone good, hasn't done this or that, hasn't proved anything", have only been seriously watching boxing since like 2008-2009 at the earliest.
And I can't believe the guy above me, what a joke. So.....Genaro Hernandez, Angel Manfredy, Carlos Gerena, Diego Corrales, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Jose Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, and MIguel Cotto were all cherry picks????
Hernandez had only lost once at 135 to Oscar 3-4 years earlier, was the king at 130. Manfredy had just beaten Gatti. Gerena was one of the top ranked SFW. Corrales was #5 P4P and unbeaten. C. Hernandez and Chavez were both top ranked SFW and would go on to be world title holders. Castillo was the king at 135, had just beaten Stevie Johnston. Gatti had just beaten Branco, Dorin, and Leija, was one of the top ranked JWW. Judah had been upset by Baldomir, but still was one of the top ranked WW. Baldomir was the RING WW Champ, had just beaten Judah. De La Hoya was at 154 lbs and had KO'd Mayorga. Hatton was #8 P4P, unbeaten, and had previously won a title at WW. Mosley had just beaten Mayorga and Margarito, was ranked #9 P4P. And Ortiz had just beaten Berto and should have beat Peterson, was the next best WW aside from Floyd and Manny.
And as far as Roy Jones......so I guess Glenn Thomas, Bernard Hopkins, Thomas Tate, James Toney, Bryant Brannon, Montell Griffin, Virgil Hill, Lou Del Valle, Otis Grant, Richard Hall, Eric Harding, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Glen Kelly, Clinton Woods, John Ruiz, and Antonio Tarver were all cherry picks???? My god....
Like I said "Im glad that the Real Boxing fans know the truth".. You could put all the names on off his record and it wont change the fact that Froid = Millie Vanille of boxing has fought fighters out of there prime or fighters he knows he can beat..Doesn't fight the best, doesn't take chances!
What are you talking about, Mayweather has fought alot of hard fight.
He fought Victor Ortiz (he quit against Maidana at 140), Shane Mosley (he was only 38, washed up and ex-steriod user), JMM (135 champ fighting at 147), Ricky Hatton (140 champ fighting at 147), De La Hoya (washed up), Carlos Baldomir (he had 9 losses and 6 draws at time of fight), Zab Judah (smaller fighter moving up in weight, lost titles to Baldomir)
This is a list of the fighter he has fought since moving up to 147, this list is a joke compared to Paul Williams, Cotto (at 147 and 4-5 years ago in his prime) and Margarito. He has took the easy path since Jose Luis Castillo 1 and 2. Castillo should have gotten the decision in the 1st fight. His resume at 147 is weak. At some point he will get exposed, as all frauds do at some point.
Real boxing fans know the truth and don't just think that because someone is undefeated and has embraced the villian role (like he did in wresting) that he is great. Time will tell and I'm willing to bet in 5-10 years no one will remember Pretty Boy.

When people adopt the Larry Merchant mindset of denigrating the career of an african american fighter who boasts loudly about himself, there is really no changing their minds. While I know its frustrating dealing with that idiotic mindset here, you gotta understand its not really about the competition, its about something more. Happened to ALi, roy jones, floyd and you can see it with Adrian Broner. But I know you know!
What else is new? Fans want him to prove his greatness by fighting and beating the one-dimensional midget from Asia, and Floyd is not up to it. He has to dump a variety of demands or what we call bluffs and when they're called, he comes up with another. He wants 80/20 split, and the recent one was Pac has to leave Arum first. Can you believe that? It's no longer about proving something in the ring. It's about nonsensical things unrelated to greatness.
This has been going on for a couple of years now. With that length of time the message should have been clear as day by now -- he wants none of Pac. Don't really know why people can't move on and just let him be. His latest message is about self-preservation. What's more clearer than that? Maybe he doesn't really care. Why should we then?
Lol he said Floyd should have fought the '99-09 Mosley. What was the big difference between the '10 Mosley and the '09 Mosley? There was a difference in the '09 Mosley and the '11 Mosley.

PRPP
Manfredy, Corrales, C. Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo, Judah, Hatton, and Ortiz, ALL in their primes when Floyd fought them.
G. Hernandez, Gerena, Gatti, Baldomir, Marquez, and Cotto, past their primes-still good.
De La Hoya and Mosley, they were past their primes. Even still, those fights, he went up to 154 and fought Oscar, and he fought Mosley after Shane had just KO'd Margarito, and was the #9 P4P boxer in the world at the time. I don't get how "Floyd is going to duck Mosley, he's too much of a risk for him" turned into "Floyd cherry picked Mosley", it's the story of Floyd's career.

Shane was P4P #3 when Mayweather fought him. Not #9.
