Because Cotto was coming down in weight, Margo coming down, DelaHoya coming down. Losing weight is waaay harder then gaining weight...

Hatton was far from back to his best. The years of gaining and losing weight obviously affected him.

Cotto - 1lb difference from his previous fight ... you are reaching here.

Margarito - career 147 fighter that received a bonus of 3lbs ... you are reaching here.

Oscar - 3lb difference from his previous fight. Manny was 1 fight removed from going up 17lbs!!! Again reaching especially when Oscar held all the cards ... you are reaching here.

In boxing it's not just about how easily one can make the weight. It's about how effective you will be in that weight. There are many who struggle to make weight but do so because they know that they will still be more effective on fight night ....

              Hatton going up a division:
              - His tactics/style was less effective against the bigger boys. Not as easy to push them around...
              - His power will not be the same and the bigger guys will be able to absorb them better than lets say a Malignaggi at 140.
              - Quickness - May not be as quick.

You take anyone anyone and move them up a division and you will see what I mean. It's obvious but because you need to defend Floyd, you are blinded!!!

Man in that picture Floyd was ready for that puny Hatton ... but you have the courage showing that to make your point! .... whatever! lol!

Floyd must have been laughing at how many non-knowledgeable boxing fans are buying it .... you know .... 2 undefeated fighters .... but 2 different divisions!!!

Now Pac-JMM III was fixed in JMM's favor?

You guys literally worship Pacquiao as an infallible religious figure. I even read that after Pacquiao fights the government mandates the public to pray to God and thank him for Pacquiao (seriously).

When he loses it is never his fault. When he has a poor performance it is never his fault. He gets his taxes investigated and it is the government's fault. He cheats on his wife with **********s on sets of children's movies and it isn't his fault.

Seriously, there is being a fan of an athlete and then there is outright deism.

Sure Cotto didnt say he wouldnt sacrifice his body with a catchweight again, BUT WHAT DOES COTTO KNOW? He is just making excuses for a fight 3 years later right?? Thats TOTALLY like him RIGHT??

Margarito - career 147 fighter that received a bonus of 3lbs ... you are reaching here.
Is it so difficult to understand that people GROW? Is that such a stretch that after campaigning for 147 for 13 years a fighter would want to move up a class? Case in point, did he not rehyrdrate like 17 lbs? Why would you do that if your comfortable at 147?

Oscar - 3lb difference from his previous fight. Manny was 1 fight removed from going up 17lbs!!! Again reaching especially when Oscar held all the cards ... you are reaching here.
Weighed in at 145. Hasn't made 145 in.......10 years? You don't gain muscle over night buddy. LMFAO at you comparing his fight night weight of 147,with Pacquiaio, with his Weigh In weight of 150, with Felix Sturm. I should really just stop right now because

If weight wasn't as big a factor, why ask for a catchweight? Why not say, "I'm going to beat you up with my skills, at your weight, because my skills are bett0r!!!"

AGAIN is it so hard to believe that after 10 years of Hatton fighting at 140 is it so hard to believe he couldn't make that weight as comfortably as before, and was looking to go up?

Ever notice how nobody ever says they had trouble putting on the extra weight? Putting on weight is easier then losing. ESPECIALLY when you are a fat British guy named Ricky who balloons up to 170? You would know this if you have EVER stepped inside a gym. I'm not even talking about a boxing gym, get yourself a Bally's Total Fitness membership and try to lose weight as easily as you can gain it.

Because the fight was in fact at a catch weight. Do you have a problem with that? Also note that I was making it known that I find it interesting that PAC can never fight cotto with out some weight demand.
