Hatton was a far better fighter at 140 than he was at 147, and that takes nothing away from Floyd btw, who beat him all ends up.

Hatton was no mug and its a great win for both Manny and Floyd. The most idiotic thing you hear though is that floyd in some way softened him up. Laughable.

Joe Cortez beat the best version of Ricky Hatton, Joe was the first guy to shut down his mauling style. Floyd beat the second best, Beer beat the third best and PacMan beat a really good version of ricky at 140 which was ricky's best fighting weight, but ricky had a terrible camp, and his lifestyle was definately catching up to him, but Manny won that fight in such dramatic fashion that he mad props as well.
(edit: for the die hards - I don't blame Joe for the loss to Floyd. Floyd wins that fight with or without joe)

Both guys get credit for beating Hatton, only Floyd gets more because he did it first. It'll be the same thing with Miguel Cotto.

It's funny to hear the Floyd haters say Hatton was only good at 140, therefore it's a "cherry pick" for Floyd to fight him at 147. Well, if that's the case, than Pacquiao shouldn't get much credit from those fans for beating Bradley at 147, right??? Get the f**k outta here. Hatton went to 147 and fought a prime Luis Collazo, who's far better than fighting Luis Carlos Abregu, and beat him for the WBA WW title. Controversial.....yes, but Hatton still won the fight. Hatton beating Collazo > Bradley beating Abregu, and this is coming from a non-Hatton fan and a big Bradley fan.

Mayweather-Hatton and Pacquiao-Bradley, same thing, different fighters. Hatton was #8 P4P, Bradley is #9 P4P. Hatton was prime and unbeaten, Bradley is prime and unbeaten. Hatton was coming off good wins over Tszyu, Urango, and Collazo, Bradley is coming off good wins over Witter, Peterson, Abregu, and Alexander. Both are really good wins.

Pac beating Hatton in 09' was like when Floyd beat Genaro Hernandez in 1998, a really good win and credit is given to him. Oscar De La Hoya gets more credit for beating Genaro Hernandez because he did it first and when Genaro was considered prime. Floyd still gets big credit for that win though, because Genaro was past his prime-still good and hadn't lost at 130 ever. Same with Hatton. Floyd gets more because he did it first and when Hatton was considered prime. Manny still gets big credit for Hatton, because Hatton was past his prime-still good and had never lost at 140.

Floyd gets credit for the hatton win, but perspective is needed. Floyd deserves credit, as Hatton gave Floyd credit for the win and he did face floyd afterall.

140 was hattons best weight though and he said as much after the close fight with Collazo. He said he felt the power differnece at 147 and it shook him up. Collazo did soften Hatton up a bit for Floyd, which obviously didnt go unnoticed by Floyd, he would have seen the success Collazo had against Hatton.
The ref did help floyd an awful lot in that fight, becuase Floyd had already put into the head of Cortez about hattons rough tactics, so IMO floyd didnt fight the version of hatton all of Hattons other victims faced, which is unfair.

Pac will get credit for the bradley win for sure, because as far as anybody knows, and many people believe Bradley will be a bigger force at 147 then 140, because Bradley himself said and believes it.
He has fought in higher weights and had success as well as walking around at a higher weight than Pac. He is a bigger guy than Pac that is obvious.

And im not sure about this beating people first logic. Some fighters can improve after a loss, so if you beat the fighter who has improved surely that is a better win. DLH beat Genaro hernandez before FLoyd, yet somehow that is supposedly one of floyds best wins.

Bradley and JMM best weights are not at WW....... but lets keep saying Hatton wasn't the better version when he fought Floyd while being undefeated and having his career long team with him while having won a strap at WW before. Something Bradley and JMM have never done. Silly ********s...

Try again. Like Hoya and Mosley, Pac capitalized on already beaten fighters on the decline. Mayweather displayed that Hatton didn't belong with the best.

Mayweather vs Hatton >>>>>>> Pac vs Hatton

                      end thread...
