Hamed was exposed when Barerra schooled him. Their was rumors that he had to rematch Barerra, then there was MOrales, Marquez, etc Morales would have killed Hamed back then, inside 9 rounds.
If Prince Naseem Hamed was American.....

While Naz certainly fought some good fighters, Marquez, Barrera, Mayweather, and Morales all were better fighters and each would have/did beat him. Against these 4 ATGs, being a good puncher just isn't good enough. All of these guys counter punch the ears off NazComment

naaaaah... i couldn't see him beating the four who rose to prominence when he decided nit to fight anymore...
a fight between him and manny or erik would've been very exciting to watch though...Comment

What a crock of *****!!!! Just like Roy Jones, as soon as he met up with some real comp he got blasted out. Unlike Roy, Hamed retired!!!!!! Stop using that America bulll**** card. Most of us Americans just wanna see good fights no matter where fighters are from!!!!He would be known as an ATG.
Now i love Mike Tyson, he's one of my favourite Boxers of all time but i laugh when i see so many people have him so high up in their ATG list. Look at Tyson's record and look at Prince Naseem's record...this may surprise many of you but there's a few similiarities there. The big difference being that Hamed didn't come back from his defeat(once but that was a meh fight) fair enough, however Tyson did come back from defeats but only went on to lose again whenever he faced a true world class opponent.(talking about a live Tyson here, not even taking the McBride and Williams defeats into account)
Now let this be known, i am a huge fan of both boxers. As my username may hint, im a sucker for pure entertainment...which both of these two greats had in bundles....anyway even being a fan of both Tyson and Hamed i can however admit that their records are nothing spectacular. Sure Tyson faced more world class operators than Hamed did, however the fact remains that he lost those fights. It just baffles me why so many people rank Tyson so highly yet dismiss Hamed so easily.

''Blasted out''? Hardly, it was a 8 to 4 round fight. You make it sound as if he got KTFO'd. Typical Mexican bias when recalling the actual fight, unless you haven't even bothered to watch the actual fight? I'd go with the latter. If anyone was gonna get blasted out in that fight, it would have been MAB, had he come to ****. Instead he tactically outfought Hamed and he deserves all the credit he gets for that. What a crock of *****!!!! Just like Roy Jones, as soon as he met up with some real comp he got blasted out. Unlike Roy, Hamed retired!!!!!! Stop using that America bulll**** card. Most of us Americans just wanna see good fights no matter where fighters are from!!!!
Also if you had actually bothered to read the thread you would have seen that i too do not think that he should be remembered as an ATG, im just saying that he would be remembered as an ATG, due to the undeniable bias towards American fighters. Hell, to this day i still see many a people claim Lennox Lewis was nothing special LOL.Comment

Hamed had the speed, power, durability and skill to be ATG. I think if he'd have been American I think he'd have gone on to better things as I think he would've been a more orthodox fighter with better fundamentals.
I do miss him though, boxing hasn't been the same since.Comment
