it is easy for fans to say "JUST FIGHT!"

but this is boxing, guys are basically putting their life and well being on the line every time they fight, so if Gamboa is looking for a better deal for this fight...THEN GIVE HIM A BETTER DEAL FOR THIS FIGHT so the fans can get what they want!

Fans are quick to point fingers at the fighter but Boxing also has a business side to it and it is also a dirty business

Give Him What He Wants And LETS FIGHT!

If Pacquaio had any balls or business sense he would realize how much money he is leaving on the table and go the Floyd/Cotto route.
Gamboa doesn't say he wants to leave Top Rank. Donaire's situation was a combination of his wife's Oscar-induced interference, and his ******ity in allowing it. Cotto's long term contract has expired. The only one of the 4 you've mentioned who had a bad relationship with Top Rank is Mayweather, and he has a bad relationship with everyone who doesn't lick his backside.

I would love for Arum to pull a move similar to what he pulled in the Pacquiao vs Hatton fiasco; which was just put up some of his own money to make the fight happen.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt Arum much to do something like this, and he has a history of coming out of his own pockets to make fights happen.

They should really do this and just reconstruct gamboa's contract because he is a tremendous talent and Top Rank doesn't have a lot of guys with Yuri's potential on their roster.

In my honest opinion, I think all this is Arum's doing as usual. He is probably su****ious of the activity going on between Gamboa and Mayweather. Then decided to make the press conference despite the fact that Gamboa has never agreed to the terms nor signed the contract to fight Rios (who does that? How do you make a fight when the contract isn't even signed? That is su****ious to a normal person.). And now you see the results. Gamboa looks like a coward, he is hated. Another Top Rank guy looking like the hero.

Besides Donaire, Chavez Jr, Rios, etc... sure I've forgotten a few others... but who have Top Rank got to represent them in a year or two's time when Pac's gone? The likes of Pavlik, Margarito, Cotto's gone, are no more... Gamboa's in a good position to make himself a good bargin.

As much as I want to see this fight, props to Gamboa for standing his ground. It sounds like the promoters decided to keep the ball rolling hoping that Gamboa would eventually cave in to a crap deal.

My point again is some random fighter shows up at a presser wanting get a fight with Brandon and dude slaps him because he just so happen to be there.
                  smh....

Fighters go to other fighters press conferences all the time. This is not uncommon at all and for you to state what you just stated really exposes you as a person who only streams fights and never goes to live event.

beside.....I'm pretty sure Abril is from Miami, and has stated for a while he wants Rios. So why not show up, especially when it's a few minutes away and the #1 fighter in your division is involved in a press conference.

                      Jose Benevides

with that said, they have no where near the talent GBP has, so I do agree they need to really push to keep Yuri Gamboa.
