I think he almost certainly will.

What is Louis's record? 21 defenses? He has 13 defenses right now because I consider him the HW champ for purposes of the record since he beat Samuel Peter in 2005. He'll make two more defenses this year, and he'll be 36 @ year's end. So that's 15 defenses assuming he doesn't lose, or get injured and have to reschedule.

With the minimal damage he takes, coupled with the lifestyle he lives and condition he keeps himself in year round, I say he easily has another 4 years left in the sport. Lets say if he makes 3 defenses over those 4 years. That's 12 more defenses.

    12 defenses + 15 defenses = 27 defenses, thus SHATTERING Louis's seemingly untouchable record.

You know he wants to accomplish this feat. . . Althoguh he doesn't have much of an ego, he said in the Klit documentary that of course he cares about his legacy, and he doesn't like criticism.

klitschko will never come close to a Legend like Joe Louis and i don't have to enumarate all the reasons why, it has already been done by the most respected experts of boxing.

Be serious and read about boxing before making statements that you'll regret later, there is nothing wrong about being a fan, but when you want to talk about Legends of a sport you need to do some research first.

And yet you can't name those "boxing experts".

We will have to see if someone can step up and dethrone this boxing machine.

I started to boxe 30 years ago, i got interrested in the history of the sport at the same time, i had a pro trainer who had made 60 fights around the world, i don't have to name you anything, if you're interrested in boxing and you want to know more about it, do you're own research.

It wouldn't be the same or be as big of a deal, but he might do it.

Wlad's best wins: Chris Byrd, Derrick Jefferson, Charles Shufford, Ray Mercer, Francois Botha, Jameel McCline, Calvin Brock, Lamon Brewster, Sultan Ibragimov, Tony Thompson, Hasim Rahman, Ruslan Chagaev, Eddie Chambers, Samuel Peter, and David Haye.

Joe's best wins: Primo Carnera, Max Baer, Bob Pastor, Jim Braddock, Nathan Mann, Max Schemling, John Henry Lewis, Tony Galento, Arturo Godoy, Johnny Paychek, Buddy Baer, Billy Conn, Tami Mauriello, Joe Walcott.

Carnera, M. Baer, Schemling, Lewis, Conn, and Walcott are better wins for Joe's era than anything Wlad has for this era.

I know this is a should of/would of/could of thing, but Muhammad Ali would have broke Joe's record if he hadn't been banned for 3 1/2 years, which diminished a great deal of Ali's skills. He was never the same "prime" fighter after the layoff. Ali had 9 title defenses between 1965-1967, and fought 5 times in 66' and 2 times in 3 months during 67'. He was going to fight at least 4-5 times a year most likely, and without a layoff, Ali would not have lost to Joe Frazier. They most likely would have fought in 68' or 69', it would have beent he same Joe Frazier against an absolute prime Ali, without having the 3 1/2 year layoff. Ali's next toughest opponent would have been George Foreman in 72'-73', where he could have lost, who knows??? But, by the time 72'-73' rolls around, with Ali fighting 4-5 times a year most likely, he could have been around 25-30 title defenses by that time.
