I don't so much care about Merchant criticizing Floyd, but rather that he INTERRUPTED Floyd while he was busy trying to thank God and his camp and family for his victory. That is some low class BS and you'd think a guy like Merchant would know better. I guess he really is a senile old drunk.

What the problem is, is Mayweather can not take someone telling him exactly how it is. He hates when someone pops his bubble to reality. Mayweather is a great fighter no doubt, but he has major flaws, before, during, and after fights. For him to say Merchant knows nothing about boxing is like saying ALI is not a great fighter. Merchant has been one of the best, if not the greatest boxing analyst in the sport. Merchant says and explains what most people wont, the truth!!!

very true. merchant has always been very disrespectful towards floyd for quite some time now. if you listen to merchant and jim the way they call the fight, you can tell who they are rooting for. when i watch espn FNF, i love the way atlas calls the fight. he imparts a lot of boxing knowledge and calls the fights straight with no bias. its time for hbo to replace larry and jim with strong boxing minds for the hosting of the show.

Some random examples of merchant being unbelievable.

Golota hits Bowe 3-4 times with low blows, larry rambles on about how Golota didn't do it on purpose because his 'mind wasn't fast enough' and 'it's cuz when you are hurt you do things' that is the dumbest excuse for low blows i ever heard. 'if you are hurt you can't control yourself' rofl. jesus christ.

Chris Byrd eats a monster left hand from Ike Ibecbuechi (that left hand might have just killed wladimir) Byrd still gets up all drooling and complaining, merchant goes on to insult Byrd for 3 minutes because Byrd was talking when he got up. That is a case of a fighter who is SERIOUSLY hurt and don't know what he's saying .

Larry Merchant after the Golota disqualification attempts to word the interview with Bowe in a way that forces Bowe to say 'I was beaten down so badly I will retire' and Bowe not being as smart as Lennox Lewis gets suckered in easily. Merchant just being a ******* instead of complimenting on a surreal brave performance from Bowe.

Larry insulting BOTH VITALI AND CHRIS BYRD. rofl. in their fight. it's surreal because he was just throwing bombs at both of them as if he understand even a 100th the pain they were feeling.

The best moment ever was when Larry try to pull a fast one on LENNOX LEWIS, after Vitali fight and got ****ing owned as Lennox instead of listening to larry's questions just kept repeating 1-2 lines over and over so even a imbecile like larry eventually got it ... 'LOOK AT THE STATE of his face larry look at it, he was lucky they stop the fight, lennox lewis the best I WAS GONNA KNOCK HIM OUT' repeat 10x...

good point. that was way past rude of larry and yet some of these tried and true hypocrites laud larry as a great analyst and one of the best LOL. let floyd do that and *******s will raise the roof about how floyd lacks class. double standard at its worst.

You can also tell who the real ****in G in the streets is as Lennox despite being too cautious at times during his entire stint at HBO was never down talked by larry Merchant commentating. Merchant have the balls to go after every fighter other then lennox. why?

Because despite lennox's excellent behavior outside the ring he is 1000x the thug Tyson was. Talk **** to lennox and larry will end up vasricred out by Jamaica taskforce.
