    lol! back then the WBO was just a regional belt so any WBO champ before 2005 was not a world champion. any WBO title fight for calzaghe before this date was also NOT a title fight. WBO title started getting recognized after wlad\brewster...hide, morrison, mercer, damiani, etc were NOT world champions. when wlad fought sanders & lost his WBO title it was not a world title fight. sanders vacated the title to get his WBC title shot with vitali. WBO was a longtime european\asian regional title much like the NABF or EU. anytime an american won it they vacated it. it was a stepping stone to a world title shot.
