say what you will about wlad vs mormeck, haye vs harrison, chagaev vs skelton. i was critical in the past of these fights but when i think about it now you actually can justify them more then other fights. mormeck was former world title holder at CW & he had wins over fres oquendo & timur ibragimov. he has a good following in france & brought many french people to the stadium in germany. 50000 people means good money for both. mormeck probably got french tv money as well. this is a great payday with little risk for wlad. audley harrison won prizefighter & then the EBU belt which gave him top 10 WBC ranking. those credentials are more deserving then anything albert sosnowski did. matt skelton was commonwealth champion & was coming off wins over sprott & danny williams.

Wlad vs Mormeck is up there IMO.

He did absolutely nothing to earn that fight. Not only that but he hadnt fought in 2 years. It was a joke, farce, blasphemy.

Ali vs. Dunn was bulls**t. Even though Ali fought Ken Norton and Earnie Shavers after Ali-Frazier III, which were good wins, Ali should have called it quits the Thrilla in Manila. He had nothing left to prove, would have retired 49-2, avenging his only losses to Frazier and Norton. He really hurt himself and his health fighting after 1975.

klitschko vs thompson 2 is 100% up there with the worst.

nothing wrong with the first fight looking back on it. thompson was hovering around the top 10 or in the top 10 for a while before the fight.

wladimir put him down like a father with his baby. he was literally sleeping in there. not a competitive fight. yes, thompson is coming off of a string of knockout wins, but he's 40 years old and they were not against terrific fighters.

yuck. had to vent some more.

The rivalry between these two olympic roommates dates back two years ago in 1991, Mercer and Morrison were supposed to fight in Atlantic city in August, when Tommy got injured, Bowe was mentioned to fill in, when Mercer learned about it, he came up with a mysterious injury, Bowe went to fight another hot prospect Bruce Seldon instead.

And it must really be frustrating for Bowe seeing Mercer lost to Ferguson in the undercard of his first title defense, Big Daddy ducked Lewis to make sure he gets to face Mercer next after an easy payday.
