Anothe avenue for live fights is a good thing but its success depends on providing competitive matchups with the a major network deal you'll have ads and hype behind it but unless it can deliver watchable fights it won't last FNF has its niche but this has to be a step above that the biggest question is how much is the budget.

If this is true then Oscar just TKO Bob Arum in a big way. I am glad because Bob Arum ruined boxing for the last two years. Damn De La Hoya making moves and he's got Richard on his side plus he's got Al Haymon working with them as well taking all the Black fighters from Don King. Every fighter likes being a part of their team and their getting paid what they should be getting paid. All Oscar has to do is buy his own venue in Las Vegas to make even more money.I forgot Eric does a good job match making fights for GBP.Comment

That's because Arum is notorious for putting on horrible cards, even on his PPVs.Originally posted by Roman MorenoI seen Bob Arum/Top Rank have exclusive network deals(versus) that did more harm than good. Versus didn't want to be in the boxing business again.
At least Golden Boy makes en effort to give you more value on their shows.Comment

It's a fact.
GBP has been very consistent in recent years about putting on stacked cards with competitive fights. Sometimes they even match their guys a little too tough and they end up losing...see Jorge Linares.
Bob Arum on the other hand will give you the main event and then a bunch of mismatches where he can showcase Top Rank fighters. I don't blame Versus for being disgusted with him.Comment

no surprise, Boxing needs like a Big Event on Network TV
interesting to see who would main event in Brooklyn though, I am sure Quillin would be featured on that Card, maybe Paulie if he gets the win on Senchenko...Comment

As we all know, Oscar De La Hoya has been going around letting the people know that he has a big announcement for this coming Tuesday. This big announcement is suppose to shake up the Boxing World. What good would a big announcement be if it didn't shake up Toprank and Bob Arum? Oscar has made his presence known every since he started Goldbenboy Promotions and securing alot of fights on HBO. Now he is about to strike another Major Deal.
According to "Inside Sources" Oscar De La Hoya has SECURED a Two Year deal to hold fights at the New Nets Center in Brooklyn, NY. On top of that, he is close to having a Network TV Deal. This would put Oscar and Goldenboy Promotions on front street. It would be like throwing a body blow to Bob Arum. We are hearing that the Head of Showtime Sports is an ex GBP employee. Showtime is going to probably cross market boxing on CBS and other sister networks.
This is all hear say for now but it seems like logical business moves. Time will tell and if true, Oscar will reveal it this coming Tuesday. Talking about dominating the sport, this will catapult him to the top. If your not signed with Goldenboy Promotions, then what are you waiting for?Comment
