UFC? Every major sport in the world is basically controlled by one body. Under one body you would get better fights. I don't see how multiple people with key selling points in the sport(fighters in boxings case), is a good thing. If one person controlled the fights you would of had fights like Mayweather/Pacquaio, Juanma/Gamboa, Cotto/Mayweather(years before 2012), Ward/Bute, Martinez/JCC jr etc etc. You don't want the fight, tell these guys to sit on the shelf and not make money. The fans of the sport control every sport, not greed of promoters. You make the right fights, the sport thrives, and new stars are made.

Similar to the discussion of having only one belt in each weight class. I doubt any significant change such as the aforementioned will happen anytime soon.

This is an interesting announcement if indeed true. Though I have to wonder how it will turn out. If it's true I hope it does what it's supposed to do and make the sport better in these times.

Golden Boy has been giving us some great fights lately, so I'm not mad with this at all.

Hope it's true about the network TV. Will be great for boxing. But I wonder if they'll put big fights on CBS or will it be ESPN type fights? I wish we would get PPV quality but I doubt it. At least a few HBO quality fights please.

            I agree - 100%.

The power balance in boxing is all wrong. **** UFC. This is about getting the fights we want when we want them.

It's called Boxing, not Golden Boy Boxing.

Hopefully they put good fights on CBS, and not crappy match ups.

I highly doubt it, but if they were to put at least HBO/SHO worthy fights on CBS, that'd be great. Like put Broner, Kirkland, Alvarez, Lara, and other good fighters on there with other good fighters.

Berto - Ortiz 2 as the first fight.

It's almost a guarantee that until one of them gasses out it's gonna be a war.

Put Broner on the card aswell.

I don't think boxing needs only one organization and one belt, but they cut it down a bit. Have only two organizations and only 2 belts for each division, or cut down on some of the divisions.

If this is an exclusive output deal, chances are all we're going to just get prospect vs bum so GB fighters look good. It's gonna backfire though.

I just sincerely hope that they actually put on competitive fights and not just become a showcase for golden boy fighters but in all likely hood lets be real here, although Golden Boy does actually seem to care about boxing to some degree, their best interest come BEFORE the fans.

                      But one can hope
