If Oscar's announcing this it is good news. I was afraid the announcement was going to be a comeback. That's the last thing he needs.

lol I was 100% sure it wasn't him coming back or else that would be the most arrogant and grandiose thing to say that his comeback would shake the industry. His comeback would've done squat.

This is great if they start building careers. Put young fighters against okay fighters/ aging fighters and you might have yourself something good. In order to get it right they are not going to be able to cut corners. Start with Gary Russel jr and show every fight he has. Another thing I believe that needs to change for boxing to get it right is fighters are going to have to fight a bit more. Instead of 2 times a year, 3 or 4 times probably need to be done. Either way this is a good step.

As we all know, Oscar De La Hoya has been going around letting the people know that he has a big announcement for this coming Tuesday. This big announcement is suppose to shake up the Boxing World. What good would a big announcement be if it didn't shake up Toprank and Bob Arum? Oscar has made his presence known every since he started Goldbenboy Promotions and securing alot of fights on HBO. Now he is about to strike another Major Deal.

According to "Inside Sources" Oscar De La Hoya has SECURED a Two Year deal to hold fights at the New Nets Center in Brooklyn, NY. On top of that, he is close to having a Network TV Deal. This would put Oscar and Goldenboy Promotions on front street. It would be like throwing a body blow to Bob Arum. We are hearing that the Head of Showtime Sports is an ex GBP employee. Showtime is going to probably cross market boxing on CBS and other sister networks.

This is all hear say for now but it seems like logical business moves. Time will tell and if true, Oscar will reveal it this coming Tuesday. Talking about dominating the sport, this will catapult him to the top. If your not signed with Goldenboy Promotions, then what are you waiting for?
finally boxing will put the nail in the coffin of UFC

There's no way that CBS would be able to lure top name fighters to their network. What they can do is use younger fighters and build them, fighters that don't have big contracts. CBS could be used as a middle tier network to build young and talented prospects and olympic talent. As the talent grows, more interest grows and maybe then CBS can keep some of the talent and if not the interest still grows and more people will be subscribing to HBO and SHO. No one knows how it will work out for CBS, HBO/SHO/ESPN, or the sports growth but it certainly can't hurt any of them. Exposure is always a good thing unless they completely half ass it and just throw bum vs bum on the cards.

The one thing that sucks is Golden Boy is on board but no one else. For boxing to get back to anything close to what it was pre 90s all the big boys need to play. Golden Boy putting strictly their fighters on can only go so far. Top Rank, Gary Shaw, Dibella and others need to get on board because they have talented fighters as well. It all goes back to boxing is ***ing themselves with all these promoters and need one body looking over it. I hope they figure something good out though.

no boxing doesn't need one body looking over it. that's what makes boxing so unique is it has no unified organization controlling everything. fu.ck outta here with that UFC ****. boxing would go to hell if it went UFC style
