Why make a headline from a non-event. What's so special about Cotto agreeing to a drug test for 3 months that it must become a headline?? It's still not year-round-testing, so has no practical uses from a testing point, except it makes good PR to the ignorant. And it opens the way to-for him-a huge pot of money. Along with the other 4-5 pro fighters (out of scores of thousands) who have gone through one or two testings. This, by the way, includes that great humanitarian himself-Mayweather.

And what's the logic in Cotto's comment that this will enable viewers to see athletes who are clean (on their TV screens and immediately become deliriously happy-I presume).

Does this actually mean anything? I think you all really know the amswer to that.

The logic behind this is Cotto knows far more than you will ever know about what goes on behind the scenes in boxing. Anyone can sit behind their computer and have a cowardly opinion about why a fighter shouldn't submit to OST and when every other fighter EXCEPT ONE is willing, something is really wrong with that picture. Manny's name comes to mind because he is THE ONLY fighter unwilling to submit to testing and no one is buying the ego thing cause ego alone doesn't make you walk away from 50 million dollars plus when your making a fraction of that.

Mayweather started this testing mess out of necessity to avoid a fight with Pac.

When Pac finally agreed to this maniac of excuses , Jr went and found more excuses until the final one that KILLED THE FIGHT,,no ppv .

Sounds like Cotto is making a dig at PAC ! ?

Pac has never been remotely found close to drugs.

I watched the Ortiz vs May fight last evening and then watched the last Cotto vs Margo fight after.

Cotto is much slower

Of course Cotto agrees with OST because he is a true sportsman. The thing is why do ignorant people make excuses for Pacquaio? Pacquiao is a cheater for avoiding testing in my book because a clean fighter would never avoid testing in any way. A man that would even flinch at the thought of testing is a cheater.

Tell me why Miguel Cotto has 39 pro fights, most or all of them with Top Rank & the one fight he leaves Top Tank is his biggest payday. Why is it that Mayweather is able to get Cotto more money than he's ever made as a professional fighter but Bob Arum and Top Rank couldn't do this in the 9 years Cotto has been a pro?

I've never been into the whole Manny's on PEDs stuff.. but it is kinda funny that all the top P4P fighters in the world have no problem with drug testing.

so is the last blood testing 3 weeks away from fight nite enough? because thats whats been the last blood testing i know of, atleast for the mayweather/mosley. i dont think it was made public as to when the last ortiz/mayweather blood testing was done.

people talk about testing protocals, but the last few people that got busted for using illegal drugs have lost fights...so im not sure why people think these ilegal drugs will help them win 100% of the time...

I think if Manny Pacquiao wasn't with Bob Arum then he wold have taken it. whether or not Pac was on the juice is something we will never know unless someone from his camp gets disgruntle and writes a tell all book. But to refuse a random blood test does raise eye brows. But, this was more of an ego match then anything.
