lol..he hasn't had great movement in his legs? really? Why? Because he is coming forward more? Standing in front of opponents more? Please show me the % Mayweathers last 3 opponents vs him. For someone with horrible footwork he hasn't had more than 10 significant punches landed on him.

That jabs gotta be a laser toward it's target and back, if it simply gets just a tad bit slower the overhand right counter will cause Miguel to put that jab away for good. How is it possible? How long have you watched boxing? FMJ is great fighter, you cant take nothing away from him skill wise but this is boxing and the simplest way to break it down is that even the best laid plans sometimes go wrong.
Saying that the jab is the key in this fight is not ground breaking stuff here. It's arguably Cotto's best punch and if he can land it consistently changes the face of the whole fight. If cannot land it consistently he probably will get picked apart.Comment

I agree with you and I tried clarifying what I meant in previous post. I wasn't talking about hitting his left shoulder in the same spot you would hit it anyway if he rolled with your punch to block it. I was talking about hitting the inner part of the shoulder/almost upper arm/upper left chest. The inside part of the shoulder/the part that you would feel it in if you seperated your shoulder. Also it's only his left shoulder he uses for timing so the right would be fair game, which is the shoulder Cotto dislocated on Branco.Virgil Hunter (Andre Ward's trainer) "Floyd's shoulder is being used to line up his opponent for his right hand, and the worst thing you could do is try and attack the shoulder. If you watch his mittwork, how many times do the mitts hit his shoulder, he's been doing those combinations a 1000 times over - it's a timing mechnasim - once you hit his shoulder, this is where he times you the best."Comment

Well what about if he had fought Berto 3 months earlier? Would the layoff mattered or did the extra 3 months cause him to not be effective?
Yes layoffs matter but to use that as a reason why he lost is just pathetic.
this is what Mosley said 2 weeks before the fight....
"I actually think the testing is working to my favor. . . . [Mayweather] likes to go out to clubs until 2, 3 in the morning. I'm not sure he wants USADA there. Me? You know where I'm at. I'm here in Big Bear.""
Indeed, Mosley is a gym rat who plays basketball and snowboards outside training and religiously works out.
"I don't care about how fast [Mayweather] is or how good his defense is," Mosley said. "I'm a boxer, a puncher. I can move. I can knock you out with both hands."
Richardson, Mosley's trainer, also feels confident about the Mayweather fight.
"I have a guy who's about not taking prisoners, who wants to leave his opponents lying on the battlefield," Richardson said.
"So now I'm telling everyone I know Mayweather is the best of all time. Better than Ali. Better than Frazier. The best that God has ever molded. But if he's the greatest of all time and we knock him on his back, what's that make Shane?"
Mosley himself NEVER ONCE blamed the layoff prior to the fight. So why are YOU claiming the "layoff" was the reason?
I didnt claim it to be the reason I said it was a factor in the fight and it was. The reason Mosley lost that fight was because Mayweather was the superior fighter at the time they fought.Comment

Ive watched boxing for a long time. And the question was "How is it possible for Cotto" to employ the strategy. Also how many fighters have you seen land JABS consistently vs Mayweather? He will pull counter him and time him easily. How is it possible? How long have you watched boxing? FMJ is great fighter, you cant take nothing away from him skill wise but this is boxing and the simplest way to break it down is that even the best laid plans sometimes go wrong.

I fully expect Mayweather to have success countering Cotto, thats what he does so well but that will be even worse if Cotto cant get the jab going dont you agree?Comment

I'm not taking anything away from Mayweather, he probably hasn't been hit with more than 10 significant punches in his entire career. But why go from one extreme to another man?..I said he had "Horrible" footwork?..
But yes, I think Mayweather at 35 isn't moving as much for a reason, he's becoming more dependent on his power and his combinations, as opposed to his shoulder roll, pot shot, lateral movement like before, might be opposition or might be age, but he's standing in there longer than usual.Comment
