You talk as though the fight has already happened...yes everyone knows Cotto's best punches are with his left hand that's why I made suggestions on how he can change it up, but you shot that down right away. Now you say that once Mayweather nullifies that weapon the fight is over....Well the same can be said of mayweather or any other fighter. "Mayweathers best tool is is shoulder roll and counters off of it so if cotto can nullify this the fight is over". Your statement is too general and can be applied to any fighter. If you nullify their best weapon you can beat them.

I agree, which is why I believe the fight is over and it hasn't even started yet. Cotto is so basic its not even funny.

No I talk as if I've seen all of Cottos fights. I didn't shoot down what you said. I just don't believe Cotto has the skillset to employ your ideas. I thought what you said was logical. Forgive me if it came across otherwise. You talk as though the fight has already happened...yes everyone knows Cotto's best punches are with his left hand that's why I made suggestions on how he can change it up, but you shot that down right away. I would have to disagree with your assertion that ""Mayweathers best tool is is shoulder roll and counters off of it so if cotto can nullify this the fight is over". For the simple fact that Mayweather never fights the same way in each fight. The way he fought Hatton was different than the way he fought Marquez which was different than the way he fought Mosley. Adaptation is Mayweathers best tool whereas Cotto pretty much fights every fighter the same. Would you not agree?Comment

Yeah I am , but Im not trying to discuss with you who was more effective with the jab only that Oscars jabs were harder and set up other opportunities for him , you want specific moments, watch the beginning of round 4 , points in round 7 several points in those rounds he effectively uses the jab. Again it will be smart and beneficial for Cotto to utilize a hard jab against Mayweather.Comment

If Floyd is smart, he would play keep away for the first 4 rounds then start attacking. Cotto is much stronger at this weight, and would be dangerous for the first 4 rounds, after that, Floyd drowns him in deep water and possibly KO him, but more than likely will be a TKO. Cotto swells pretty easily and Floyds sharp and accurate straights and jabs will bust Cotto up.Comment

Just a few things for you and everyone to ponder.....
When has FMJ ever been hit cleanly and effectively by either a left hook to the body or head?? If you can find it, i'd like to see it. Floyd is going to smother Cotto's left hook, just as he did ODLH and anyone else who happens to throw a decent left hook. The thing everyone is missing here is that Floyd's best punch is actually his left hook, it's better than Cottos left, albeit not as powerful. As they say you don't "hook with a hooker."Comment

I agree with some of that you said, especially that his jab set up other opportunities. But what I will say is not every opportunity can be taken advantage of. Oscar only landed 21% of his punches and half of those were jabs.Yeah I am , but Im not trying to discuss with you who was more effective with the jab only that Oscars jabs were harder and set up other opportunities for him , you want specific moments, watch the beginning of round 4 , points in round 7 several points in those rounds he effectively uses the jab. Also in no way do i believe that Cotto has the boxing skill or smarts as Oscar De La Hoya, the jab, the left hook, the right hand or the power. Oscar has a longer reach by about 7 inches and is taller by 4 inches. Which is why I don't see Cotto being able to do any of what Oscar did & Oscar didn't do much.Comment

I also think he might get himself into trouble if he is too aggressive early. Better off waiting Cotto out past rd 6 when he will start puffing, then get aggressive.Comment

Thats not true at all, Cotto is a very good short accurate puncher who is capable of throwing and landing in combinations. His hand speed is underrated and his movement also good as well. He has shown flashes of a very good right hand but I have to wonder how much of that depends on the health of that previously injured right shoulder. Defensively he's inconsistent , sometimes good sometimes bad but he's no Margarito. And then maybe his best attribute he has a warrior spirit, he brings it in every fight you cant ask for much more. There are no special effects when it comes to Cotto. We all know his best punch is his left hook to the body or the head & thats pretty much where his arsenal ends. Mayweather already is aware of this and will have Cottos best weapon nullified early in the fight. Once Cottos left hand is taken away from him, the fight is over.
Special effects? Come on dude how old are you? Every fighter has things they do well and not so well.
You run Cotto down but he's a three division champ with a great resume and some of the best fights of the last decade. What do you want him to do a super macho man punch as a finishing move?Comment

I agree with all that you said except for Cotto being stronger @154lbs.If Floyd is smart, he would play keep away for the first 4 rounds then start attacking. stronger? based off what? How can we gauge his strength at 154lbs? Yuri Foreman was hobbling on one leg. It took him a 12 rounds to defeat TKO a washed up Mayorga who had 2 fights in 3 years. Margaritos eye would have become swollen fighting anyone that night.
How do we know Miguel is more powerful at 154lbs?Comment
