Rumor still strong in Miami regarding Gamboa-Rios fallout

Acosta didn't want/meant to trade with Rios.

He stopped trying to box with Rios. Looks like he got tired, Gamboa has more stamina than Acosta. He won't get tired that easily.

I believe the highest tax bracket in the United States is currently 35%. That means that on a one million dollar purse, the fighter hands over $350,000 right off the bat to "Uncle Sam." Factor in the promoter's cut, trainer's fees, etc., and a boxer winds up with significantly less than the publicized purse. Of course, these are just fast numbers, but it's probably safe to say that the "average million-dollar-fighter" gets to keep roughly half his gross earnings.

Yeah, for them to actually make 1Mill, they'll have to get like 1.5Mill.

I don't know a whole lot about how boxers get paid, but all I know is that all this talk from fans saying "Oh a boxer is making 500k this, or 1 mill that and he wants more?" is ******. They don't know how boxers be getting fucked with their money all the way until they become superstars, if they ever get there. If you're not the one in there taking shots to the head, then stfu about a fighter complaining about money.[not you, in general].

Cats were spreadin the same rumors about him being out.of shape before he fought Salido. we all know how that turned out.

Im more concerned with the contractual ordeal, although I do agree that its highly unlikely that they would begin promoting a fight n selling the tickets withouta finalized contract. On the other hand, Yuri has been havin problems.with Top Rank for quite some time now.

I got a direct source from miami that told me how much gamboa asked hbo for the fight and the only thing i am going to say it's that i am shocked. I promised i wouldn't give this info out so I won't but jesus christ It was way more than my highest expectations for sure, matter of fact what hbo is paying gamboa right now is higher than my highest expectations for what i thought he was requesting
