Merchant is OLD AND BITTER, I never been a fan of his going way back long before Pacquiao and Mayweather became stars, I remember Big George Foreman always putting him in his place and telling him "YOU NEVER BOXED BEFORE SO YOU WOULDN'T KNOW" lol Lennox Lewis use to do it as well, so Merchant act is nothing new, maybe new to Pacquiao and Mayweather fans

I couldn't agree more with you. I have old tapes of boxing from HBO back in late 90s and early 00's when all my friends and I would gather to watch the fights; even then we hate Merchant. He was always talking non-sense. He would talk soooo slow that friend made the analogy that Merchant was like one of those dolls that had the string that you would pull on the back from the to speak... every time Larry would pause he'd say "**** someone gonna pull that dudes string again, he brain farted." We've never liked him either.
I remember RJJ, George Foreman and others always getting into it with Merchant, dudes a bad bad commentator, I was pissed when HBO gave him that contract extension.
For me personally, I've been begun to dislike Merchant and Lamplely since Cotto vs Margarito back in 08, I feel they're declining badly ever since.

exactly. Merchant was a journalist, way before he became a broadcaster. He's not here to appeal to hood stars out there, go find another hero, like rick ross if that's your goal. Merchant is smart and witty, and it's over a lot of peoples' heads, but he's good at what he does. He's not intimidated by big egos because frankly he's seen it all.

Wouldn't surprise me. Go back and watch some of Floyd's early interviews in the late 90's/early 00's, Larry has always had a hard on for Floyd.
