Even a drunk Merchant knows and has forgot more about boxing than floyd ever will
How can a guy that has NEVER boxed in his life can know more about boxing than Floyd Mayweather himself ? Think before you post something like that , you're embarrassing yourself.
What!? Teddy Atlas is excellent, usually it's *******s that hate Teddy because he criticized him for refusing drug testing......only time I've ever heard someone not appreciate his commentary.
You must be joking, Atlas is as nutty as a fruitcake. He's well known for his "unbalance". And i'm another one who doesn't like him so now you know of two. Ever since I heard about him holding a gun to 15 year old Tyson's head, I've watched him more carefully, although I had already thought that he was very loosely put together in the head. The only thing I liked about him was the way he would mangle the English language in trying to appear educated, and repeat the same thing about 4 times. (He still does that). A poor man's Yogi Berra. Hard to believe that his father was a doctor.
Merchant commentary is great
he was giving Floyd props during the Ortiz fight and right after the KO
Floyd just can't handle criticism
HBO won't be the same when Merchant leaves
he's much better than Kellerman
Hard to believe that a so called educated boxing commentator would go out of his way to anger fighters who have just won a fight. Not to mention disrupting them while they are thanking the people who have supported them.
I've NEVER liked Larry.. He's annoying as f**K and talks too slow... Kellerman looks like a bug but is a hell of a let better... I will be glad when Larry leaves boxing/hbo.

The same way a person who's never boxed or never been a pro can make a good trainer. Off the cuff, Teddy Atlas has been a trainer with only 9-10 amateur fights of which he us D"Amato and was fired after a couple of months.
Merchant is an expert observer, became one because he was particularly suited to be one, and has been watching and dissecting 10 times more fights during his 55 years in the business than Mayweather has ever sparred rounds. he didn't become the emblem of HBO, and the most famous boxing analyst in history because HBO are kind hearted.
