It has more to with him beating a slew of guys who are still champions from Flyweight to Super Flyweight to Bantamweight. Julio Cesar Miranda (WBO flyweight champ) in 2009, Koki Kameda (lineal Flyweight champ and the current WBA bantamweight champ) and Suriyan Rungvisai (current WBC super flyweight champ) in 2010, to Edgar Sosa (longtime WBC light flyweight champ) in 2011.
Whether he was particularly poorly trained/unmotivated for this fight or whether it's case of his age finally catching up to him, or both (more than likely), there is no question that he looked all but shot compared to his usual quick, sharp self. He literally stood there as if he didn't care whether he was going to get hit or not. His legs also looked completely done.
