Funny, it sounded to me like he said he wanted to fight Manny but he wants the money split in his favor. If he doesn't get the split he wants, no fight. Thats the same position manny is taking. Yet he wants the fight and floyd doesn't. Huh?

Manny's money split is reasonable. Floyd's isnt!

45/55 with the winner getting 55 > Flat fee and I keep all the ppv revenue for what's expected to be the biggest grossing fight in the history of the sport.

If Captain Wapakman really wanted to fight he would've done so a loooooong time ago. A looooooong time ago.

Problem is everybody including The Pacman knows The Pacman will lose. So why not grab as much as possible, lose the fight, and later claim: "Well I was just tired and I was reaching the end of my career. It's now time to put my health, my family, and politics ahead of my career. I was just doing my job. Nothing personal."

So that means that Cotto is not receiving ANY PPV revenue???? I have a real hard time believing he's not atleast getting a percentage, even if a very small one.

Does anyone know if Cotto has been asked whether he is or isn't getting any of the PPV $$$?

He is receiving a split of all the revenues. Neither fighter has a guaranteed purse. They are co-promoting, investing with GBP and they will split all revenues (70/30 is what I think). That was the deal according to Cotto adviser/manager Gabriel Peñagaricano.

SO now we divert the talk to ODH. That's Floyd's and ODH business, which is HISTORY. So you're saying that we should apply their business agreement to this fight then? I have never seen a more ****** comment. Dude this is 2012. Wake up.

SHade I've said the same thing for months now. Run the all the numbers and split the purse that way. Manny wanting 50/50 seems reasonable except for two facts:

1. Manny never gives his opponents that spli
2. Bob would NEVER let his fighetr do 50/50 if he knew his fighter was generating more.

i could be wrong but im pretty certain that hatton got 50% against pacquiao. and that is not relevant anyway. what is relevant is what a fight between mayweather and pacquiao is worth.

i see your argument about pac is used to making 25 so why should he expect more? i could say the same about floyd. why does he expect to make way more than he normally does?

floyd is trying to give pac his loose change and keep 100%. if that isnt saying i dont want the fight, i dont know what is.

One guy is asking how most major fights with two stars have been negotiated from Ali vs. Frazier, Ali vs. Foreman, Leonard vs. Duran, Leonard vs. Hearns, Tyson vs. Holyfield, and Tyson vs. Lewis... The other guys is trying to make up some new jack $hat kind of like the extra drug testing and etc. etc. Please tell me you are just a Floyd fan and you don't really think Floyd is being reasonable... One is being reasonable and the other one is not... When Floyd fought Oscar he he did not have the same standing as Pacquiao today... That fight brought Floyd to the light... Manny has been in the light a solid 6 years already... Manny currently is the most popular boxer in the world... Floyd is only known in U.S. ******s and to boxing fans... Manny is Fillipino and has been invited to the White House and has more U.S. endorsements than Floyd...

WHen floyd fought ODH he was unqestionably the #1 p4p boxer in the world. So its crazy to say he didn't have the same standing. As far as negotiations for the fights you listed you have NO IDEA what happened, especially in fights before you were born.

Just run the numbers aqnd split the fight that way. Tell me what is fairer then that?

Bad comparison. At the time, Oscar was a MUCH bigger draw than Floyd! The fight with Oscar is what propelled Floyd to where he's at now.

As it stands, Pac is already a superstar in the sport and has generated more ppv buys and revenue than Floyd. You can say its because Pac has had more fights on ppv than Floyd but then again, who's fault is that? It was Floyd himself who opted to stay inactive and retire multiple times.

JUst run the numbers. Let them determine if its a 50/50 fight, not our opinions. Isn't that the best and fairest way?

I don't discount the fact floyd will be getting his biggest payday too. But that fact didn't compel ODH to give floyd 50/50 so I can't see how it compels floyd to split with manny.

If you've been watching boxing long then you have seen arum promoted fighters delay fights before. He took over 2 years to make Hearns and Leonard and over 5 years to make Hagler Leonard.

Poor comparisons, Leonard-Hearns(both at the start of their careers) and Leonard-Hagler(Leonard retired for three years). Where the hell do you get this Floyd-ODLH comparison from? That is a completely different set of circumstances and completely irellevant.

I am not sure whether you want to defend Floyd or just **** on Bob and Manny, whatever it is there is no way to defend this absolute,and downright crazy **** from Floyd.
