Bit biased i would say mgirt. Floyd hasnt done it against the best today so cant even say if hed be able to do it agains tthe best of yesteryear.
Jmm can do it nearly as good as Pac, but Barrera who fought Pac and JMM dont think JMM is on Pacs level, but Floyd dont know about that. Lets see how he can do against Pac first and then i'll decide.Last edited by hugh grant; 03-01-2012, 01:08 PM.

Haha Mcgirt, Shuddup and worry about your own issues. What an Idiot not to put Pacquiao in there. Pacquiao has been fighting Champions, former champions and contenders. no tune up fights! on the other hand marquez been avoiding his mandatorys and and fighting tune up fights. Pacquiao the true warrior here.

if you move up from flyweight all the way up to welterweight (i don't really count pac's climb to jr mw) while winning 4 lineal titles in 4 different weight classes (never been done before); beat other hof'ers like barrera, morales, marquez; and win world titles in at least 7 (don't really count his 8th) different weight classes (never been done before)....then you deserve to be considered one of the greatest of this era...I respect mcgirt's opinion, but personally I believe pac deserves to be considered as one of the greatest of this era.

My point is in boxing, there is a "jeremy lin"effect towards Pac.
Most black fans, boxers, trainers seem to be butthurt that Manny is getting so much props and love.
Manny might be overrated by HBO and his fans, but putting him out of "the greats of his era" is ******ed.
There is a lot of jealousy towards Pac.
And for the record I think Pac is a great fighter. I dont think he holds up in history though. Strip away the excitement and being a pop culture icon, you are left with a very flawed fighter. And u dont have to be black to realize it. Cause Im sure it wasnt just black people booing in his last fight after watching a 38 year old man nullify him by simply moving to Pacs right.

But what if you truly believe pac lost all 3 of those fights with JMM (which many people do) and docks him for the catchweights winning the ww title at 145 and the JMW title at 150, wouldn''t it make sense to have JMM and floyd?

This board has really deteriorated. All of a sudden you can't consider Pacquiao a good fighter or you're deemed a "*******". Hell, most posters on here make Roger Mayweather sound like an impartial observer. McGirt's comment was plainly nonsensical. Whether you thought Marquez won the third fight with Pac, the rematch or all three (with the latter being almost as nonsensical as McGirt's comment), you can't deny the trilogy was one of the most closely contested in boxing history.
Marquez is a great fighter, Pacquiao is a great fighter and so is Mayweather. Simple as that. But Manny has captured titles in more weight classes than both of them, so to neglect to mention him among the era's great fighters is sheer bias on McGirt's part.
