Barrera dont think JMM is as good as Pac thats for sure. Pac won 3 times. YOu cant change that, cos then you will have to change many fights in history, including the one that Floyd lost to Castillo.

Also Floyd dont give rematches like Pac, so who knows maybe Floyd would lose every rematch he ever had, whos to know. Yes Castillo gave Floyd a rematch as Floyd wanted to avenge the loss to Castillo.
Floyd did pretty well in the rematch, only because Castillo was disheartend. He used Floyd as a punchbag in the first fight, yet still didnt get the decision. You cant perform under those circumstances, he probably thought Floyd was invincible to get a decsion against.
"Pac won 3 times" against JMM? On what planet? The official count is 2-0-1 in favor of Pac. Many people believe it should be 3-0 Marquez. And many more believe it should be at least 1-1-1. I agree with you that Castillo won the first fight against Floyd, but Floyd did school him in the rematch. Of the best Pac beat, De La Hoya had already lost to Floyd and had one foot into retirement already. Hatton had already been K.O.ed by Floyd and struggled against the very ordinary Lazcano. Cotto was coming off of a brutal and probably illegal beating from Margarito. I'm not saying Pac isn't great and I believe he definitely makes the top 5 (or even 3) of his era, but Floyd and JMM make sense as the top dogs right now. If Pac can be impressive against Bradly and/or Floyd struggles with Cotto, then a re-evaluation may be in order.

I still don't understand why Pac fans refuse to acknowledge that fact that he has been KTFO in his career while excitedly pointing out how he's "knocked-down" JMM. By this silly logic, Rustico Torrecampo is the greatest fighter the P.I. has ever produced.....

One punch, KO! "His eyes are crossed!"

But the article is spot on, this is why most pound for pound listings have Mayweather #1 and Marquez #2 and then the rest.

I mean, obviously he's flat out wrong because he didn't mention Pacquiao or Hopkins or Barrera or Morales, who would all compete just fine in the 70s or 80s.

Ha!!!! Thank you for posting this. A much needed dose of reality for those who tout the greatness and invincibility of Pacquiao. And before Pacmans defenders cry "he was just a kid back then!", please remember that Medgoen Singsurat did the SAME THING to him a few years later when Pacquiao was the WBC CHAMPION of the WORLD!!!!

Come watch your hero writhing on his knees and show me a clip of Floyd or JMM doing the same. Then we can have a reasoned debate.

The silence from Pac-fans is deafening!!!

Pac has made good fighters look like bums for how many years now? Only one fighter in recent times has got Pacs number, JMM speciality is fighting Pac.

Whereas JMM has made bums look like world beaters, katsidis wasnt that great really was he? Pacs performance against david diaz made diaz say Pac was the modern Ali. What did i hear floyd fans and JMM fans say Diaz werent all that great? Well im sure diaz is someone JMM would make look like a world beater.

SRR lost to Randolph turpin. Lets say Randolph didnt give SRR a rematch would randolph be considered a better fighter? Duran lost to laing. If Laing fought Duran 5 times he probably beat Duran 5 times. So what does it matter that Pac had 3 close fights with the great, great JMM?
It matters not one bit. Its what he did to the oppoents he did beat that people will remember.

Manny Pacquiao is the best of this era why?

Does Manny have the best skills? No.

Does Manny have the best record? No.

Does Manny have the longest winning streak? No.

Does Manny command the biggest numbers? No.

Has Manny fought the most amount of fighters ranked #1, 2 or 3? No.

In what way is Manny Pacquaio the best? Is it because a bunch of writers said that he was? Is it because Manny has had awards bestowed upon him?

Who has Pacquiao beaten to be called the best?

I was always told that you have to beat the best in order to become the best.

Floyd was #1 for years before Pacquiao even had *******s. Manny didn't beat Floyd so how is he #1? By default? Hahaha .. that's laughable.

The difference is real boxing fans say that Floyd is #1 because he has beaten any and everyone ever put in front of him. He's the most skilled and talented boxer in the world. He's consistently fought the #1 and 2 in every division he's competed in and he's made them all look like amateurs. No one has been able to defeat him.

You say that Manny Pacquiao is #1 because of his writer awards. That's it. Because Manny was voted this and that, he's #1 in YOUR mind. Someone else told you that Manny was #1 and YOU took their word for it. He hasn't consistently faced #1 and 2 in every division he's competed in. He has used vacant titles to make a case for being a multi-division titlist. He's used "mannyweights" to drain fighters he himself did not believe he could win against without help.

So tell me again, why is Manny #1 in your eyes? Hahahahaha ..

Because hes got the best resume. Also because he beats Floyds opponents better than him (apart from JMM who Floyd bloated up and didnt give him any warm up fights at 147) and he cleaned out 147 just about.
