      Let's examine that.

Manny's first 40 fights were against bums. Plain and simple. He hadn't fought outside his small corner of southeast Asia.

Then Manny has 14 fights that are noteworthy.

      They are against:

      1 - Barrera
      2 - JMM
      3 - Morales
      4 - Morales
      5 - Morales
      6 - Barrera
      7 - JMM
      8 - DLH
      9 - Hatton
      10 - Cotto
      11 - Clottey
      12 - Margarito
      13 - Mosley
      14 - JMM

Of those 14, he fought Barrera x2, Morales x3, JMM x3. He lost to Morales once when he had to submit blood without notice, and rematched Morales even when Morales got dominated by Raheem. Manny arguably lost to JMM3 times.

Take those wins away, and then you have to factor in that Pacquaio fought DLH at a mannyweight of 145lbs. He faced Hatton ONLY because Mayweather had knocked him out first, and then targeted Cotto ONLY AFTER Margarito had savagely beaten Miguel into bloody submission.

Clottey has never beaten a world champion. Manny was willing to face Margarito ONLY AFTER Mosley knocked him out, and after he was willing to face Mosley, a man that Roach admitted that they had been ducking, once Mayweather dominated him.

Lastly, JMM thoroughly outboxed Pacquiao in the last fight. It wasn't close. It wasn't competitive. JMM shut down Pacquiao's offense, and Pacquiao has no defense. After that match, Pacquiao's reputation took a huge hit and he was demoted on most lists. He knows JMM won, and that's why he's fighting Bradley.

Better resume? In what world? You confuse reputations with actual RANK ... which determines who is at the top and who is not. After fighting Diaz, Pacquiao had NO CARE FOR RANK. He's been fighting guys with big names and unimpressive rank.

In PACLAND, rank doesn't matter. Neither do championships obviously .. which is why Pacquiao doesn't mind competing for vacant titles to make a case for being an eight division titlist.

Manny Pacquiao's resume is HOLLOW. Its has the shell of an impressive career, but like an eggshell, it lacks substance passed his bouts with Barrera and Morales. His entire foray at WW has been a sham, and THAT'S where Manny's legacy found legs!

Fun Fact for Hugh Grant: Fighting boxers ranked 4th & 5th isn't the same as fighting boxers ranked 1st & 2nd. Keep that in mind when you're "weighing" Manny Pacquiao's many accomplishments. If you do that, you'll see for yourself that what he's done pales in comparison to elite fighters like Marquez and Mayweather.

      Nice call, McGirt.
Many thought he beat the guy Floyd is atually fighting in his next fight.
He also beat Judah and Corrales(Floyd best wins?).
Clottey is a decent win, nice re-writing history.

You should be banned with comments like that. The people who gave Pac FOTD are not pinoys and if you qualify as FOTD you sure can qualify for best fighter of the era so get over it.

Floyds claim to being the best of this era is based on his unbeaten record it seems, which isnt if you put the castillo fight in the equation. His resume isnt as good as Pacs, so its obvious he hasnt beat enough quality opponents meaning he isnt the best fighter of this era. He can only claim to be a on paper unbeaten fighter of this era and we know unbeaten records dont count for much and are overated, JC and ottke as examples. Yes Hagler gave a few rematches and won, as did Pac on may occasions against great fighters and won, something Floyd cant claim. Pacs the first and only one to stop Morales to this day, so Morales beating Pac could be called an off day for Pac.

Again pacs loss to singsurrat is irrelevant as he wasnt a name then, people didnt expect so much of him. Not half as bad as durans loss to laing as duran was established and people put high expectations on duran at that point in time. Duran was maybe not at his peak, but he would have losst to laing no matter how many times they fought from what i saw of that performance.

When pac lost must be taken into consideration, and Pac haters wont do that. All they can do is say like robots pac lost to sing, pac got ko;ed crying by singsurrat.

Pac is the greatest fighter of this era. If you want me to be diplomatic he is one of them to not offend anyone.
I'm a "racist who should be banned" for saying that Pinoys over-rate Pacquiao because of his ethnicity? Are you kidding? Did you see how I also said that Puerto Ricans (MY PEOPLE) do the same thing by over-rating our heroes like Gomez and Trinidad? I guess I'm racist against my own kind, right? Ethnic pride has always played a large role in boxing. It's not "racist" to state facts and only an idiot would cry racism because some one doesn't agree with their choice of fighter. Get a life you tool. And let me understand your logic......Pacquiaos losses were just off-nights, but Kirkland Laing is better and would have always been better than Roberto Duran! lol! You just showed how much you really know about boxing. Good luck with that.

If you don't find the conversation interesting, then go to another thread. Or go hang out with your "gf" (a.k.a. hand)

Yes, and Americans overate Floyd, as did Mcgirt. If nonito doanire and came out and said pac is the best of this era, many would agree, and some would say he s pinoy what do you expect.

Were the people who overwhelmingly said Pac is the FOTD pinoys?

Clottey is a decent win, nice re-writing history.

              Clottey is a decent win?

Name one world champion he ever beat.

              Just one.

Name one time when he beat ANYONE ranked in the top three.

Joshua Clottey is a TOP RANK PROMOTIONAL PUPPET.

Clottey exists to make other fighters look good.

I am among those that thought Clottey SHOULD HAVE WON. He didn't as he let Miguel's dirty antics throw him off his game. It was shameful, but it was what it was.

No re-writing history necessary. What you are saying is weak. Clottey has NEVER done anything worth mentioning.

Judah and Corrales? Hahahaha ... do you even watch boxing?

Question for BillyBoxing: When Clottey fought Judah and Corrales, were they ranked in the top 3? Better yet, when was the last time either fight had been on top at the point when Clottey fought them?

You sir, are a hype whore. You mention boxers who had made a name for themselves PREVIOUSLY, but had been beaten, demoted, dejected and were desperately trying to reestablish themselves with a big win.

That's like saying that if Judah were to beat Hatton right now he'd be back on top of the world. That's ridiculous, but you alone don't seem to know it. Hatton at one time would have been a huge win for Judah, but now all he has is a name attached to the guy who once beat Tszyu.

Sadly, that's enough for desperate fans looking for undeserved recognition for their favorite fighter.

Stop being swayed by promotion. Its the same thing *******s do with Pacquiao. They drop names when his competition is questioned, but neglect to mention that status and rank of his opponents at the point when he fought them.

              KNOW YOUR BOXING.
