The way Floyd fights now is like a boxer puncher. He uses his quick reflexes and defensive mastery to roll the punches but pretty much stays right in your face. I don't know when he decided this is what he wanted to do but **** I like it.Comment

his choice but I actually would love to see him go back to Reyes for this fightComment

lol He decided to do it before the Mosley fight if I remember correctly. He wanted to be more exciting as critics said he wasn't exciting anymore.
He was right as he said if he stood in front of someone and fought toe to toe (Mosley/Ortiz), critics would say his legs are shot. Yet if he moves around the ring they say he's running.Comment

Are yall really buying this load of **** from JR ?
LOL, he is and has made a mockery of Cotto !
He is so happy to fight a broken willed fighter and to use him to show how great he really is.
But his mind is on Pac !!!!!!
The only one fighter that worrys him is PAC
HE knows deep in his heart the one fighter that can out:
gun him
game him
knock him out
IS PAC
From all reports now Jr will never fight PAC !!!
He will be blemished FOREVER for DUCKING PAC !!!!!!!!

Cotto's punching power is well overrated. In fact a lot of fighters' power seems to be overrated by people on here...another example is Froch.
It's not like Cotto murders any elite fighters or has them running. Mayweather made Mosley more hesitant than Cotto did. Pacquiao didn't get seriously hurt by Cotto really and even thought Marg copped a beating he never went down like he did vs Mosley.
I don't see Cotto knocking Mayweather out unless it is a lucky shot and I don't see him landing enough to create a stoppage by accumulation either. Mayweather is more likely to win by KO simply because of his accuracy and defence he could force Cotto's team to throw in the towel to prevent Miguel taking too harsh a one-sided beating.
I love Cotto but his best chance to me is a lucky shot and I don't see him as this destroyer that some paint him as.
I don't know why every time Floyd fights, there's all these people thinking he could get KO'ed. People need to stop and ask themselves: who's the last elite fighter Cotto knocked out? How many times has Floyd been stopped in his career? How many times has he been knocked down? How many times has he been hurt?
I think there's a chance Cotto makes this somewhat competitive (by winning 2-4 rnds, for instance) but I can't see anything he has that really troubles Floyd. That's not to say that Miguel's not a fine fighter - he is - but, style-wise, you can probably count the number of fighters over the last 20 years you'd give a realistic shot at beating Floyd on one hand, and I don't see Cotto as being one of them.Comment
