I've always believed Scotland would have gotten ****d more during history if there was actually stuff here That's why the Romans stopped at Antonines Wall as they realised there wasn't much to do North of it. Also fighting annoying Picts who used guirella warfare and receiving casualties in trade for hilly land wasn't worth it.

The reality is England were in Wales, Scotland and France at the same time. heavily focussing on the latter. What Scotland did was till very impressive and I'm very proud that we managed to stop the English advances and remain as Scotland. However we did win against the odds on more than a number of occasions and pissed them off enough that they stopped coming up. Especially when Wallace went into England and started causing a ruckus. That really pissed of Edward and Co so they mashed us at Falkirk. Then Robbie Bruce came along and won at Bannockburn (again against all odds.) (the scene at the end of Braveheart.) which basically secured independence for us.

Proud to be Scottish, we've got a great history and culture.

      Anyway back to boxing.

By the time Byrd rose to top contender in the HW rankings Lewis was avenging a blemish on his record and going to defeat Tyson to earn a payday and legacy boost. Can't really blame him.
The same people who say Lewis ducked Byrd would be crying if he had beaten Byrd and never fought Tyson. They'd be saying he was afraid of a real puncher and chose a light hitter instead. They conveniently ignore Tyson was ALSO a mandatory.

As much of a fan I am of Tyson, his resume isn't anything special. A lot of people forget that the division in the mid to late 80's was pretty weak. However, it was the manner in which he was beating everyone that earned him his status.

IF Wladimir went out there and quickly obliterated the majority of his competition, which he COULD do easily, then he'd get more respect from posters on this site.

He's afraid to get his chin checked. He's got the tools to destroy, he just doesn't have the confidence to take chances.

I can't see how the win over Mike Tyson boosted his legacy.
