forget about those gamboa knockdowns. anyone who saw them knows he wasnt hurt in any of them. 2 of them shouldnt even count, one was a slip and the other he got elbowed in the face first. furthermore, those knockdowns occured as gamboa came in, if he just stays outside and boxes rios, he'll be hard to hit. rios isnt exceptionally fast, he's just really tough. so im not sure if he'll be able to catch gamboa, applying pressure is one thing, hitting the guy is different. just ask ricky hatton or victor ortiz.

as for this fight, it breaks down to if u think rios will ko gamboa cuz he's not going to win a decision.

i personally see gamboa either winning by ko or decision. he'll probably just light up rios for the first 3-4 rounds as rios tends too stand there for the first few rounds taking shots like he did against acosta. once that phase passes, gamboa will start boxing him and staying out of range. remember, gamboa is an outside fighter, it's going to be hard for rios to hit him.

In other words Gamboa will win by pitty-patting Rios and staying away from him.

go back and rewatch acosta/gamboa i like gamboa but its gonna be the SAME thing i just think rios takes him out earlier,,

Rios is going to get beat while looking so UGLY in this fight, his stock is going to drop alot after gamboa embarrasses the **** out of him. someone with close to no skills cant beat someone with great skills

I've been leaning towards Rios all along, and this is the primary reason why. I believe that, at some point, perhaps late in the fight, Gamboa will have to engage. Twelve rounds is a long time to avoid some exchanges. Yuri will have to survive the few shots he's certain to absorb.

I think Gamboa will carry enough power to get Brandon's attention, though. I just don't necessarily think it'll be enough. It'll be a really pleasant surprise if Yuri can hurt Rios. If that happens, this fight can turn into something widely unexpected.

I feel Gamboa will take it as his rise in weight won't be as detrimental as most think. Rios should be fine making this weight with proper nutritional guidance. Regardless even vs a healthy Rios, voy con el mio. Gamboa all the way!! The intangibles are so obvious it almost hits you in the face. Rios has his size and heart, that's it.
