Based on styles Gamboa has it won already, I can see Gamboa stick and move all night and Rios get frustrated. Now, if Gamboa takes out Rios in his own game, that is going to be a huge win. Hopefully Gamboa can engage Rios in a good fight, by not using the ring(running) too much though....I like Rios' style, and want him to win, but Gamboa's speed is gonna be the key I think..

But, what excuses could Rios fans come up with ?

Gamboa is the smaller man who is reaching for greatness, no excuses there.

I think the main question is, will Gamboa bring his power up to 135..... because if he doesnt, it is highly unlikely that he will be able to keep Rios off him for 12 rounds just with footwork..... in fact, it wont happen.

Gamboa will have to fight Rios at some stage, I am sure of that.

This could be a real cracker.
You will b surprised at how hard he will hit at 135,

He can't fight Rios fight, he have to do what he needs to do in order to win, his main concern is wining the fight if that meant becaming Sweet Pea so be it...

I've been leaning towards Rios all along, and this is the primary reason why. I believe that, at some point, perhaps late in the fight, Gamboa will have to engage. Twelve rounds is a long time to avoid some exchanges. Yuri will have to survive the few shots he's certain to absorb.

I think Gamboa will carry enough power to get Brandon's attention, though. I just don't necessarily think it'll be enough. It'll be a really pleasant surprise if Yuri can hurt Rios. If that happens, this fight can turn into something widely unexpected.

Being skilled doesn't mean being "flawless." Gamboa is skilled, not perfect. Besides, in this particular case, we're comparing two specific fighters. Yuri is indeed more skilled than Brandon. Gamboa's speed is a tough asset for anyone to overcome. The old saying is "speed kills;" there's a reason why they say that.

And I completely disagree about Pacquiao having better boxing skills. I put Yuri and Manny in the "force of nature" catagory. Both fighters are blessed with amazing God-given abilities, so they can afford to play fast-and-loose with fundamentals. But Pacquiao is able to rely just a touch more on natural talent. Manny throws punches with power from all angles, sometimes with both feet off the ground.
