Most likely Gamboa easily outboxes him winning a shutout or near it but it would surprise me either if Gamboa stopped Rios, he is fast an hard puncher and will land often.

This is the time for Gamboa to put up or shut up. Rios is the first real challenge IMO that he is having. If he walks through a big, tough, young stallion like Rios then he will be on his way to becoming boxing's new rising star. For Rios' sake I hope he doesn't depending on his chin to win him the fight because Gamboa has dynamite in both hands. Can't wait to see what he has been working on though.Comment

Gamboa vs Rios
Stop the hate just wait the result of the fight on July 14. I am eager to see the result of this fight most of the time the one talking trash always get the defeat. I don't want to keep reading post about the size advantage is equal to defeat, skill always count guys, remember this Despite his smaller size (5'6½" vs Margarito's 5'11") and lower weight (148 lbs vs. Margarito's 165 lbs), who got beat down. Anyhow I just want to see a good fight and like people posted that don't want to hear Gamboa lost because he has a big opponent, can lead to post like Rios lost because was drain trying to made the weight. The best should win plain and simple.

You should never bet on the guy who's going into the fight knowing he's gonna get hit, but Rios is still young enough to plow through Gamboa.
I've seen gamboa struggle with a little pressure, and Rios is going to bring it like nobody else gamboa has seen- i'm honestly not sure how gamboa is going to deal with rios's pressure on top of him probably outweighing him by 20 lbs on fight night- Plus Gamboa relies too much on his power.. rios isn't gonna slow down easily.
Gamboa is gonna look like jeremy lin against the heat when he throws everything at Rios and he's still coming forward.
The only thing that will stop rios is his own ******edness- like starving yourself 5 days before a fight to make weight.Last edited by DARKSEID; 02-25-2012, 01:24 PM.Comment

I can see Rios losing early rounds but breaking Gamboa down before the 12th. Brandon is a badass, and would probably still be a badass at 140, the jump in weight will be too much for Gamboa.Comment
