    Gamboa vs Rios

Interesting fight, I am a big fan of both of these fighters. I wasnt impressed with gamboa last fight with ponce de leon, He has great skills and is very tough. Gamboa really hasnt been tested and he has been to distance only a few times. Rios in the other hand, i was very impressed with his TKO over Murray, He showed his toughnes and relentless pressure, but what really impressed me was that he was drained the night of the fight and showed tremendous heart and got the TKO. Rios himself has skills too, that are overlooked by boxing analyst. His heart and his mental toughness will win on april 14th with a late KO or split decision. I cant wait for this fight, we the fans will win on this fight.

Salido was completely conscious, which means he wasn't KOed. Orlando was knocked down and the ref would've started the count if it weren't for Yuri's blatant foul. He likely would've gotten up. I agree that Gamboa would probably have torn into him again and finished the job, but we'll never know; Yuri pulled that ****** move and could've been DQed.

If his power carries up then it will be real interesting. Rios walks forward and takes a lot of shots in most fights, someone with the ability and speed of Gamboa is going to tag him a lot more than usual and if he carries the power up then I don't know how many of those a presure fighter can come through, even one as tough as Rios.

Also, for the concerns about Gamboa's chin, I've never seen him hurt. He's been down due to balance issues, but never has he been hurt in a fight so I'm also interested in that.
Yuri's been down four times, due to balance issues, as you stated. I only saw one occasion where he might've been slightly buzzed, but it's open to interpretation. All the talk about Gamboa being "chinny" is overblown, in my opinion. I think a lot of people read about it and repeat what they've read.

I also wonder if Yuri's power will carry (or if it'll improve). I don't think Gamboa is going to be very aggressive in this fight. But if he hurts Rios, that hand-speed will allow him to deliver the finishing touches. Getting hit with one punch isn't likely to put Brandon out, but rapid-fire combos can do the trick.

Orlando looks annoyed, weary and complaining. Not to mention, "Siri" goes right back to fighting, as he had been the whole night, once Cortez resumes action.

The action we're talking about commences at about 5:55 and the commentators review the second knockdown in slow motion at about 10:00:

I'm not being kind to Gamboa at all, it was a ****** foul and he deserved to lose his KO because of it. It still was a little slap, meaning it had no effect on Salido, meaning Salido took 35 seconds of break he really needed he wouldn't have received otherwise.

Had it been a true punch with bad intentions, Gamboa would have been disqualified. Not only that, but he would also have knocked him out cold. Salido was down with no defense. It was like a "stay down" slap, "stop frontin".
