Salido was definitely knocked out... Gamboa unknocked him in by his own choice. Salido had that "no más" look on his face when he was down, first time he ever looked that hopeless in his whole career.

What actually happened is, 15-20 seconds before the big knock down, Gamboa rocked Salido hard, and instead of finishing him, he asked the referee to count him or stop the fight (like wanting to help Salido out lol)... the ref did nothing and then Gamboa was like "ok then" and then he pounded Salido hard and finished him like he was supposed to. He then gave him a little slap while he was on the floor like "stay down man u have no business up here with me". So then, rightfully, the ref gave Salido all the time he wanted to get back in the fight, which was exactly 35 seconds from the moment he went down. All that time, he had that "no mas" look on his face.Comment

I have no issue with the first part of your post, but your interpretation of "a little slap" is speculative and kind to Gamboa. The look on Salido's face doesn't look "no mas" to me. Orlando looks annoyed, weary and complaining. Not to mention, "Siri" goes right back to fighting, as he had been the whole night, once Cortez resumes action. The action we're talking about commences at about 5:55 and the commentators review the second knockdown in slow motion at about 10:00:

Rios by ko
It's gonna be a good fight but gamboa is moving up to two weight classes, i just don't see him taking his power up there. Maybe i'm wrong but we'll have to see. I also see Rios being the stronger more relentless guy winning in the end. I seen a couple of fights where Gamboa showed he has a suspect chin where he was dropped by some punchers who do not punch as hard as Rios.. On that note i got Rios by KOComment

When I think of this fight I am reminded a bit of the Cotto-Margarito rematch, with Yuriorkis playing the role of Cotto by boxing and moving, tagging Rios with sharp shots in the early rounds...
But I think Rios will adapt to Gamboa, get used to his speed a bit, and start hammering to the body and eventually slowing him down by the middle rounds... Late in the fight I think Rios will be all over him and score a late TKO
Gamboa has special talent but the move up in weight in drastic and Rios seems like the type of guy who will walk through fire to get a victory...Comment

I cant wait!!! Now this is a fight to get hyped about thats for sure!!!
Although i really like both these guys i will be backing Gamboas speed an skill to get him home by a wide margin!!! But Bam bam is a warrior and i wouldnt be shocked if he pulled off the knock out!!!Comment

salido was out he just got lucky gamboa did that rabbit punch after ko'd himGamboa did not KO Salido. Yes, Yuri knocked Orlando down twice in the twelfth round, but I wouldn't say that Salido was out of it. Gamboa hit "Siri" in the back of the head while he was down, prompting referee Joe Cortez to deduct two points. You might argue that Salido was saved by the breather he got from deduction, but it's just as possible that Orlando would've finished the fight on his feet. We'll never know. One thing is certain: Yuri was lucky he wasn't disqualified. That foul was blatant, even dumb.Comment

I'm most interested to see how Gamboa hits at 135.
If his power carries up then it will be real interesting. Rios walks forward and takes a lot of shots in most fights, someone with the ability and speed of Gamboa is going to tag him a lot more than usual and if he carries the power up then I don't know how many of those a presure fighter can come through, even one as tough as Rios.
Also, for the concerns about Gamboa's chin, I've never seen him hurt. He's been down due to balance issues, but never has he been hurt in a fight so I'm also interested in that.Comment
