Which boxer has a 12 week training camp, especially a boxer so light at the weight.

And now Cotto is saying he is going to train hard as ever. spells trouble and Cotto will be in his best condition about 2 weeks before and is very likely to pick up little niggles and injuries.

Do you think Mayweather is in camp now?

Is Pacquiao going for a 12 week camp? No they will do 8 weeks.

Cotto needs someone professional on board because this could all blow up in his face.
    THE RING: Mayweather and Ortiz:

Looks like Floyd and Ortiz over train too when it comes to your logic towards Cotto.

He must be running, doing something in the gym. What I think PLD is providing game-plan instruction, getting Cotto's subconscious used the strategies that he will be using. Fighting a man the caliber of Mayweather requires this very act. All others who have had normal training sessions have lost so far. And as I said before, PLD is hungry and would love to be the first trainer to guide a fighter into beating Floyd. Floyd has had his time. This is PLD and Cotto's time.
If he just down the gym, staying sharp, keeping things ticking over, talking tactics and watching tapes no problem.

If he is training 4+ hours a day then there will be a problem.

Apparently Floyd trains hard ("the toughest") all year around... Looks like Floyd is the one over training, not Cotto. Of course this is based off your logic.

They don't train everyday, they probably have regular breaks where they have a week away.

They also don't train to the intensity of a training camp.

Camp is all about working to a peak and you have to be at the peak on fight night now a week or two weeks before or a week after.

Starting too early does nothing because if you go too easy it make no difference and if you go to hard you can peak to soon, overtrain and pick up injuries.

Let me guess you never trained for anything before.

Yep... almost identical to what I've posted before on this topic.
