WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) considers his upcoming defense against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) as the biggest fight of his career. Cotto advised Raul Alzaga that he already started training for the May 5th clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Cotto's trainer, Pedro Diaz of Cuba, is already in Puerto Rico and the training has officially begun.

Can't wait for may 5th!! Don't see Cotto winning the fight but hopefully he puts in a really good performace and it isn't a 12-0 shutout for Floyd

I hope he is, Cotto's condition has never been close to perfect, and can fade in tough fight.

And Floyd normally has a condition advantage over his opponents and come on strong late when they are tiring and get sloppy.

So if Cotto can work on his condition it could take that vital advantage away from Floyd.

Big mistake doing this. He should have kept his early training sessions to himself. We all know that Floyd's probably training too, but upon hearing Cotto saying this will undoubtedly motivate him to train harder; which spells bad news for Cotto.

Good news to hear that he has stayed in shape even after the Margarito bout. Cotto's downfall was his eating habits in between fights. He's admitted to overindulging on his mothers home cooked PR meals which can be very heavy and fattening which leads to a training camp that focuses more on loslng the lbs rather than actual training and working on a gameplan for the fight.

No Floyd isn't in training camp now, if he were we would have heard about.

8 week training camp for Floyd, he doesn't want to over train, like Cotto might do.

He was a fat kid, one of the reasons he got into boxing. Lets hope he can be disciplined for the next 11 weeks.

But if Cotto is going hard at it for 11 weeks, there will be problems.

Cotto gets KO'd by the 8th round, even if he's in the best condition of his life. Cotto boxes Floyd for the first few rounds, but then he starts getting his face pounded in.

The best part of the fight will be when Cotto's wife and kids rush out of the arena because they can't bare to see Cotto taking all that punishment.

I almost forgot, Cotto does do one thing better than Floyd: the way he backs up. It's a semi back pedal with to two foot shuffle and nobody does it better. It doesn't win him fights, but he looks good doing it. He's face is a bloody mess but he backups great.
