    let's see...
1 KO in 44 fights, has only fought in his home country of argentina, only name i've heard of on his record is jose alfaro (he won a MD against him at home), fought 3 guys with winning records/streaks (and 1 guy who had managed to rack up 3 in a row!), his last opponent was 41 years old and had only fought once in 4 years (he has a record of 31-23-3)...

he appears to be an argentinian bum with no KO power who mostly fought other bums from argentina. i looked at some of his opponents records..most of the ones i looked at were knocked out early by abregu, matthysse, or maidana.

now i'm not saying everyone needs to be a KO artist or anything, but if you're mostly fighting local guys with records (his last 6 opponents) like 31-21-3, 24-9-1, 11-10-4, 15-0-1, 8-3-1, 27-14..you should have more than 1 KO if you're on the world-level.

i watched a little bit of him on youtube. nothing at all impressive considering the level of his opposition. he seems content with jabbing most of the time, then he jabs some more and lunges/reaches forward with a straight left.

mandatories serve their purpose unfortuantely only some of the time, and other times you have head scratching mandatories like this where the fight makes absolutely no sense at all.

      so yeah, **** this fight.

Plus, if Marquez is going to retire after 1 or 2 more fights why is he worrying about a mandatory? That in itself makes no sense. He shouldn't waste his final fight or two on some pointless mandatory, that's just silly.

Because I honestly wanted Marquez - Pac IV

Back in December I despised the thought of the fight simply because I don't want Marquez getting robbed again but then I realized that it was a good fight. Marquez has it in him to finally get the win against the fraud.

The 'fraud' would never take a fight like this. Pac's fight against Mosley was a mismatch but it was still a million times more competitive then this.

JMM isn't Ray Robinson fighting 5-6 times a year, this will be at best one of three fights he has this year. A total waste.

much rather see marquez fight someone like rios or guerrero next..those fights would be far more entertaining.

At least he's fighting a different opponent. The other option was Diaz and it would've been more "competitive" yet most guys would've said the same, that it was a ****ty fight.

Between Diaz and this guy I think this guy is better, at least they're giving a different guy the opportunity to become a world champion.

Just look at Mosley, he's shit and yet he was given a world title chance against Pacquiao (he was done at that moment, his fight with Mora proved it) and now he's getting a chance against Alvarez. I would like to see better Alvarez against some #1 ranked guy in the division who deserves a shot at the title than against old shot Mosley who has no wins since almost 4 years.

We live in a time where a fighter takes a tough fight in November it is ok for him to have literally a worthless fight several months later.

So what if he fought a Top fighter in his last fight? He's supposed to.

That doesn't mean he can fight an actual nobody in his next fight.

                  This fight in inexcusable. Period.

JMM is not above fighting contenders, no one is and I support it.
