Lennox had been fighting since 1989 and had achieved everything he had wanted to achieve. He was already fighting at an age when a lot of fighters retire anyway. It was hardly as if Klitschko fought him when he was in his late 20s or early 30s. Beating Klitschko again wouldn't have improved his legacy - it was only an exciting fight, not a particularly important one at the time. Klitschko simply came onto the scene a little bit too late. Knowing what we now know about Klitschko, he was a much better boxer than most of Lennox's opponents.

It is not Lennox's fault that Klitschko can't fight a decent opponent. Lewis had his run and already had one eye on retirement anyway, as he was wanting to have a family and his wife/girlfriend and mum had a role in him calling it a day. Klitschko didn't exactly run him off, that is a silly thing to say.

The point is that Lennox retired after having been hit by Vitali more in 6 rounds than anyone had ever hit him in that span, had been outboxed for the first time ever and retired after a controversial win when being offered a career best payday and having no plans to retire prior to the fight.

Vitali ran him out of boxing period. Ignore it if you want but those are facts.
