Can a nuthugger explain to me why it IS a race thing?

I can understand if its ONLY asians who are in Linsanity right now, but how do you explain the white people, the black people, the hispanic people all loving Linsanity? Why are they loving Jeremy Lin? Why would White Black or hispanics care that an asian dude is being hyped up?

Let's take for example, a guy named Joe. He's a hardcore Knicks fan and bball fan that loves Lin right now. Then Joe reads about Floyd Mayweather's Tweet...

Joe: "Ugggh fucking Floyd, I hate him!!! He doesn't know shit about basketball and Jeremy Lin! He's such a racist asshole!!! UGh...I hate him so damn much that...that...that....I'm gonna SPEND $65.00 TO WATCH HIS FIGHT AND SEE HIM LOSE! I don't care if I'm not a boxing fan, I just really hate Floyd soooo damn much that I'm DYING TO SPEND MY $65 TO SEE THIS JERK LOSE! UGH IS IT MAY 5TH YET??? I HATE HIM!"

Once again Floyd has to attach his name to another athlete to hype himself up.

I'm loving Linsanity right now...it really has become the #1 sports story (albeit in the slowest sports month of the year here in the US)...but we can't just pretend that this isn't about race. ESPN shows Asians holding up Lin signs on every sportcenter, but it isn't about race. The entire ******* nation has jumped on the Lin bandwagon, but it isn't about race. Floyd says ESPN is giving Lin more premature hype than they would if he were an African-American, FLOYD IS SO RACIST AGAINST ASIAN!!!! But, I thought this wasn't about race?
