  • Check out Floyds recent fb/tweet. More betting slips. My guess is maybe Mr Lin was responsible for him losing a bet he made so he talked **** like anyone of us would.

The difference though is when Floyd talks people actually listen...

Yes, if he played for the Knicks. That's the dominating factor behind the hype, not race. If Kyrie Irving did the exact same thing, he'd get more hype because of being a number one pick.

Actually, there's never been a player since the NBA and ABA merged that has done what Lin is doing. Hype tends to come when a player does something historic.

Lol at people acting like Floyd has ANY point here.

I guess when you can't refute the message refute the messenger. WHere did I defend what floyd said? ALl I said was it was about the hype, not Lin.

“Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”

WHere is the criticism of Jeremy Lin in the above statement?

So bojangles why do all the media outlets point out that Lin is a Tiawanese American? Please tell me what that has to do with his success?

Hmm ok I said what Floyd is saying is wrong and what are u doing now? Trying to explain the motive behind what Floyd said so isn't that defending?

Because it's an interesting aspect of his story that came up after his success. If it was about his race though, they would have mentioned it way before he started playing well and it would have been the first thing out of their mouths. I didn't know he was Taiwanese-American until the third game or so he played, it was never the main story, and still isn't now.

His play and the team he is doing it for is the reason for the hype. His race is just interesting, it has nothing to do with his hype. It's not like the NBA is saying, "Gee, an Asian player coming out of no where and breaking records is just what our fanbase wants! Let's focus on the fact he's Asian!" They aren't.

                    • Hell, Lebron had more hype than this in his first few games and he didn't do what Jeremy Lin has done.
