just saying that would have been fine, but by crediting the hype to lin's race he discredits what lin has done on the court. i agree the lins race plays a part in the hype but floyds remarks sounds like his race is the sole factor when clearly it is not
The bold is the key what something sounds like and what really is are two totally different things.

Any person with half a brain knows that race isn't the sole factor when it comes to Lin right now.

by criticizing the media's coverage is a indirect way of saying he doesnt deserve that type of coverage which is a knock on Lin.

How do YOU not get that?

No it doesn't. The comment is about the media coverage and that the media wouldn't be on this that much if lin were not asain. How can anyone disagree with this. The US media does this kind of crap every day.

But when you compare him to rookies who never played an NBA game and start from day one its not a fair comparison. Lin played NBA ball and in the D league last year. Jordan, Iverson etc started straight from day one. Not equal.

That said floyd comments are about the media hype, not Lin.
so do you believe if lin was a black guy in a white dominated sport and getting all this hype from the media floyd would have made the same remark?

            Hell no! Haha.

Floyd would have made some sort of mention at how a black man is dominating in an all white sport.

floyd doesnt have a half a brain then,

“Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”

Would Lin be getting this kind of coverage if he were Kyrie Irving and he did the same thing? Of course not.

Lin is akin to Tiger Woods winning his first tournament. His success exceeds the stereotypical limitations placed on him by the media based solely on his heritage and culture.

im not arguing whether its true or not. Just why he felt the need to put down another athlete based on his race, and what his motivation is behind it.

No I doubt he would. But would Kyrie Irving get the hype Lin did if he did this?
