i think rios and marquez would have given him the most issues. i'm not sure how gamboa is going to look at LW, so i wont speculate too much. i dont think linares could keep him at bay after they boxed for a while. i think he'd knock him out in the mid rounds. i was higher on valero's skills than i was on his power. the kid could box. he moved his whole body well. he really did have a ton of talent.

i think he'd beat guerrero up. he might not stop him, but he's a much better fighter in my opinion. he does almost everything better. faster, harder puncher, better footwork. most imporantly guerrero isnt going to hit him on that chin that he hung out or cut him up because he's not a hard puncher or very aggressive.

broner has been doing well against smaller guys like litzau, ponce, whatever the name of the last guy he blasted on was. i dont know how he'd do against a bigger guy with some skills and some real pop. ponce put a few wrinkles into his game and look at what it did to broner. he's improved some, but valero is no ponce.

no need for a rematch of the demarco fight, IMO, unless demarco becomes some comeback wizard and gets some more good wins. valero beat the hell out of him.

if they threw them all at him one after the other you'd think perhaps he'd lose at some point to the lower tier guys. i'd pick both rios and marquez to beat him as well.

i'll vote no, but he would have been a terrific fighter to ahve around in what appears to be shaping into a decent weight class with the young talent moving in (and rios hovering at 140)
I agree with all of that, especially on the topic of Linares. He doesn't have the beard, it's apparent, to withstand the pressure and relentlessness of Guerrero. What about Katsidis? That'd be another slugest too.

I think Marquez would have had the best chance to end it for Valero though. Marquez is just as tough and the better fighter.

i think he'd bust katsidis up pretty good. it would be a fun fight. he's got a good chin but his face is pretty easy to wreck at this stage. and i think valero would be just long enough to keep katsidis at bay without having to fully engage the way marquez was. i think he'd knock him but he'd really have to wear on him

No he would have fought Bradley and lost.

He would have moved up to 140 and could have had some entertaining scraps, but I dont think he would have kept being on top. He wasn't proven.

i think valero would have beaten rios..and if marquez could take valero's power, then he would have beaten valero.

I would favor him over Broner, Linares, Demarco, and every other LW.
            valero made demarco quit.

i reckon him vs gamboa would be the most interesting for sure and they're both pretty similar in a lot of ways- amazing natural abilities but actually quite finely skilled which people don't tend to recognise.
marquez, that would be a hard fight, and i wouldn't write marquez off against anyone, but even so valero would certainly have a shot.
all the others i reckon valero would have breezed through.

Was watching valero fights on Tuesday, thinking goddamn there's a lot of good fights with him in the mix. Had that Duran aura building up.
