He was an asshole, but I think he was one of those guys that would've really shined had he been given the chance before his life got cut short. He was a really tough fighter to deal with and anybody that thinks otherwise is clueless.

A tough guy and fun to watch but not a top tier talent, he still needed alot of refining.
if they kept firing these good names at him one after the other you tend to doubt it
i think rios and marquez would have given him the most issues. i'm not sure how gamboa is going to look at LW, so i wont speculate too much. i dont think linares could keep him at bay after they boxed for a while. i think he'd knock him out in the mid rounds. i was higher on valero's skills than i was on his power. the kid could box. he moved his whole body well. he really did have a ton of talent.
i think he'd beat guerrero up. he might not stop him, but he's a much better fighter in my opinion. he does almost everything better. faster, harder puncher, better footwork. most imporantly guerrero isnt going to hit him on that chin that he hung out or cut him up because he's not a hard puncher or very aggressive.
broner has been doing well against smaller guys like litzau, ponce, whatever the name of the last guy he blasted on was. i dont know how he'd do against a bigger guy with some skills and some real pop. ponce put a few wrinkles into his game and look at what it did to broner. he's improved some, but valero is no ponce.
no need for a rematch of the demarco fight, IMO, unless demarco becomes some comeback wizard and gets some more good wins. valero beat the hell out of him.
if they threw them all at him one after the other you'd think perhaps he'd lose at some point to the lower tier guys. i'd pick both rios and marquez to beat him as well.
i'll vote no, but he would have been a terrific fighter to ahve around in what appears to be shaping into a decent weight class with the young talent moving in (and rios hovering at 140)
Alot off Valero threads go the same way one half say he never proved himself the other say he would have destroyed anything that moved. For me he had a good career up the point of his death and had the potential to be a tremendous boxer/puncher.I dont like commenting on even one fantasy match up so when theres several involved i really dont bother because in fanstay match ups it is really hard to leave your own personal bias out off it
