I think it is a smart move if he wins. For instance if he fights Marquez and lose he doesn't fight Pac because the winner fights Pac, they never mentioned who the second opponent would be if that happened. Second with Peterson fighting Khan, if he wins he makes more money, leaves no doubt he is the better fighter and then will have the options of possibly Floyd or Pac with things to better influence negotiations.

Without the point deductions, Peterson would've lost against Khan. Peterson would have name recognition by fighting Marquez and holding his own. Now he will fight Khan again and likely lose decisively. Better to lose or win against Marquez, as losing to Marquez at this time is not bad unless he gets schooled badly, while winning raises his stock big time.

Lamont is in such a good position right now... He actually had the option to turn down JMM en route to Pacquiao, to fight Khan and would most likely get lined up for Mayweather if he beats Khan once again.

        Cong****.

But that's loser thinking..Maybe he actually thinks he can beat Khan..It was not like the fight was a blow out, no matter how u called it one way or another.

Fighting Khan is a great decision if you win, but if you lose you fade out of the picture, no matter how good your performance was.

Fighting Marquez is a great decision if you win, but if you lose and put in a great performance, you're still eligible to other title fights because you fought well against a popular future HOF.

                Question

How did he really lose the 1st fight for those who keep saying that ?

If he wins then he is lined up for very big things and if he loses a good fight then the trilogy is there, if its good. I would have liked vs JMM but i like vs Khan too. Then with Soto v Mats Im a happy boxing fan...for the time being.

More money and more chance of winning now he knows the blueprint to beat Khan.

Great move by Peterson. He probably realized that Arum lied to him when he said he'd have a guaranteed fight with Pacquiao in the fall if he won, since Arum has already made it clear that they want a November fight with Mayweather.

                      ....
