i dont see how if he lost the WBA WW title to Cotto. NEXT fought Mayorga for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight title...fights Margarito for his WBA Super World welterweight title...when did he fight for another championship after that? If im wrong correct me. because i cant find any data on Shane being anything @WW after Cotto beat him.

Mosley became the WW champion of the world by beating Margaritoin 2009. Margarito won his belt by beating Cotto in 2008.

Just because on BOXREC it says SUPER WORLD WELTERWEIGHT TITLE (meaning it's the WBA's Super championship AT WELTERWEIGHT)

There is absolutely no evidence that Margarito used any illegal load against Cotto. That is a complete supposition. Cotto lost because Cotto got beaten up.

Aside from that and as far as Mosley vs Cotto goes, many feel that Mosley won that fight. Besides, Mosley was coming back down to 147 after his unsuccessful bid as a jrMW. He was NOT a champion. He was NOT P4P, and a win over Mosley at that point based solely on name recognition for his past success and not current rank and title was bull****.

The reason that Mayweather's win over Mosley was valid was because Cotto became the top dog at WW by defeating Mosley once Mayweather took 2008 off. Margarito destroyed Cotto and then Shane knocked Margarito the fcuk out.

The difference is obvious. At the point Cotto faced Shane, Shane was trying to recoup from his failed attempts at jrMW. At the point Floyd fought Shane, Shane had taken his top status back by beating the man to become the man.

At the point Pacquiao fought Shane, Shane had been thoroughly embarrassed by Floyd and got a draw against Mora(at a weight where Shane has never been very effective).

Can we all finally acknowledge that equal credit for a win against a common opponent cannot be given when one fighter weakened said common opponent by demanding a catchweight?
