Why Do People Claim 'Mayweather is boring'?

    Honestly, I don't get it.

It's shocking, that a lot of the, so called boxing fans, constantly say "Mayweather's boring to watch".

I mean, personally, I think he makes boxing look beautiful.

Is a KO all they want to see?

Nothing more spectacular than a perfectly timed counter imo.

Some people want to see people brawl/scrap it out... also if it's a one sided affair, they want to at least see them fight to then end.
Mayweather's good but he can still be classified as boring to some

He is involved in boring fights, well he used to be, because he insisted in running backwards around the ring pitty-pattying.

He doesn't have the legs for that any more however, and now he has to stand in front of his opponent. His fights are more entertaining as a result, I'm looking forward to Mayweather v Cotto.

when you an get up and go to the bathroom during rounds thats a lack luster fight. Pot shots counters and slow conservative opposition their to be hit with no countering in return. Thats a typical Floyd fight. Effective or not...its an eye sore and not what most fight fans pay to see or wanna see. Blood knock downs and knockouts and 12 rounds of `ass kicking....thats whats up. Oh...and no controversy either. Floyds a boring fighter to watch...

mainstream fans only appreciate "blood, knockouts and 12 rounds of ass kicking". real boxing fans appreciate all aspects of the sport, including the technical and strategical apsects.

its like if i said im a huge football fan but i only like to watch my team on offense and only when they throw the ball, that doesnt sound like a real football fan to me. and neither is a boxing "fan" who only enjoys physical fights, they are only in it for random violence. a real fan recognize good boxing when they see it so they appreciate it.

i love a good scrap and i love a good chessmatch, i love boxing. boxing after all means "hitting without getting hit", not being hit is 50% of boxing in other words. you should be able to appreciate a fighters defense as much as his offense, and floyds defense is poetry in motion.

real boxing fans appreciate what you describe as a "typical mayweather fight".

Because he makes fighters hesistant as hell once they feel how slick he is and feel his decent power. Just discourages them and makes them stop trying to make a fight out of it.

I dont know, and I cant be bothered to argue with anyone who doesnt like him - but I enjoy watching him fight, he's a genius in the ring and almost technically perfect, that's why I like him.

i know we arent spoiled with a lot of them these days, but there are guys that can render a man completely unconscious with one of those counters.
                    it's absolutely more spectacular.

how long have you been watching him?

he's been in some very boring fights
most of it stems from the fact that his style leads guys to give up after the first half of the fight, and he doesnt break them down to a level where he can stop them
