Dissecting the 40 mil offer

MY understanding is that the cable/PPV people get 50%. Many reputable writers and boxing experts have stated this. Also Arum gets exactly 27% of Pacquiao's purse. And believe me he earns it. You look up what a promoter does to earn his money. Without Top Rank promoting it there wouldn't be nearly the amount they expect. You have to give credit where it's deserved. I've also seen that of the residue, that is, the total PPV and other money's coming in (excluding sponsorships and privately arranged TV broadcastings) each fighter has made his own deal with the promoters for either a certain dollar figure per PPV sold, or, the prominent fighter like Pacquiao will likely have an agreement to get a percentage of the gate, or maybe PPV residue (I'm not sure). I've seen where Arum has mentioned, with MannyP 80%.

The contracts are complicated, which is why they need teams of lawyers, and the public is not informed of the inner workings. Why should they be??? So everything we see posted on this site, has to be taken with caution. That is, if you are concerned about the fighter's earnings. I don't see why you should be. He doen't care about your's. I suspect you may be using your "worry" just to bash Arum.............

As for Arum swindling MannyP that has never been proven and likely never will be. It's pure scandalous gossip, thrown around by Arum haters, or *** haters. Arum spent years studying law, and has a deep respect for it, as 96% of lawyers do. He would be too careful to do anything for which he could be ruined. It would b a foolhardy for a man in his high profile position to do anything like that. Especially when he knows that he is under a glaring spotlight all the time, every day, every hour and minute.

These are given to the fighters to make them fight, the person putting the money up gets it back when the fight is over e.g. mayweather made $25million guarantee against ortiz but even if the fight flopped and did under 50,000 buys he would of kept the $25million but made no more n the person who put up the guarantee would of lost out

When I started to think about it, the 40 mil offer is better then 50/50 for PAc.

Here is why.
Lets say the ppv makes 1.8 mil buys at 65-70 $.
Thats 63 mil when you split it 50/50.



When Pac carries a PPV they get around a 1.3 mil ppv buys at most and 100% of the revenues is kept within TR and yet Pac gets less then 30 mil all and all.

Now if you split the it 50/50 with GB and MAyweather it would equal as them getting 900k of the ppv buys.
If Pac gets his usual ppv share from TR, how the **** will get anything close to 40 mil?

The highest PAc has gotten from a ppv share is something around 20-25 mil and even some of it gets scammed out of his hands by Bob Arum and Michael Koncz.

the 40 mil could be a way to cut Bob Arum out of the juicy Pie.
Ofc Bob gets some from Pac's flat rate but still, nothing close to the ppv.

It would be a big **** you to Bob and PAc gets more money than he has gotten in his entire career.

Which in Floyds case is himself. Thats why his guarantees are so big compared to Pacs. Its really no guarantee at all.

They can. But once their earnings are more than the guarantee, the guarantee becomes moot. They just get the earnings.

The guarantee only matters if the fighter makes less from his cut of revenue than the guaranteed amount.

EG. Fighter A gets 30% of total revenue with a $20mil guarantee.

If total revenue is $100 mil he gets $30 mil total, not $30mil plus the $20 mil. Just the $30mil.

If total revenue is $10 mil, his cut is $3mil but he gets $20 mil because he was guaranteed that much.
