What's with you guys constantly making stuff up?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out.

"Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million".

If you're going to tell the story, tell the "WHOLE" story; not just what fits your subjective motive.

Secondly, to all the guys crying "Margarito was "ranked" #1 for x amount of years according to Ring Magazine = Mayweather should fight Margarito.

Well since Ring Magazine is the bible to some of you guys, do you still account for the fact that Ring Magazine had Mayweather ranked over Pac on the P4P list from 2000 - 2007 until Mayweather retired. According to the same magazine (Ring Mag) that some of you use as leverage to say Mayweather ducked Margarito; that same magazine is saying Mayweather was FOTD.

But of course you won't acknowledge that. Some of you guys only use rankings when convenient.

Mayweather just fought in April. Why is it so hard to think he didn't have an injury?

Arum clearly said that Mayweather would've fought Marg for 8 million. What are you talking about?

You do that too. Everyone who bothers to take a side in Mayweather vs. Pacquiao arguments does that. I'm sure I've done it before.

Floyd should have fought Margarito. It's a fight that was there to happen, that Floyd didn't want. Yes he made the right choice for his career, because Baldomir was an easier fight for the same money, and he got Oscar afterwards, but he still should have fought Margarito.

Pacquiao has a lot of situations like that too. I'm a fan, but I don't act like a member of his family trying to defend it the way so many Floyd and Pac fans defend their every move.

Had he fought Margarito you would have said he should have fought Baldomir....

Brian Kenny said "Floyd will certainly duck Baldomir"......LOL

Arum should have given Floyd more to fight Hatton and Cotto than Tony.

They are FAR bigger names..especially back then..

Arum wanted to give Floyd 10 for fighting Oscar..that's only 2 mil more than for the then OBSCURE WBO belt holder..Margarito...

I'm just saying, if we're going by Ring Magazine, which is what a lot of Pac fans like to do, that means that Mayweather was FOTD.

Ring Mag had Mayweather ranked over Pac on the P4P list from 2000 -2007 until May retired.

Regarding the Margarito vs Baldomir comparison, at the time in 2006, after Baldo beat Gatti, if Baldo and Marg would've went head to head, the fight would've been like Angulo vs Kirkland; a toss up.

Marg may have done more work at 147 that went unnoticed, but Baldo hadn't lost a fight since 1998, had an iron chin, and was on a roll. If Baldo would've won that fight against Margarito, I don't think it would've been considered an upset because Margarito was still making a name for himself at the time anyway.
