Are you serious? The dude was making a joke. It wasn't an actual debate.

christ you guys are clever sometimes.

do you think i give a **** about my post count or my reputation count?

      kobe bryant is massive, dude
he is massive. he's 205 lbs in world class condition. he plays close to 100 nba games on a championship year. if he werent in such great shape he'd easily have 50 lbs on ortiz.

in his prime he could jump out of the damn building

ortiz would have trouble hitting him on the chin he's so tall

those are physical advantages. sure, ortiz boxing abilities and experience might offset some of them, but they're not going to simply dissapear because ortiz is a boxer and kobe plays basketball.

to think he simply blows his doors off becasue he's got magical boxing gym dust on him is foolish

in a fight without gloves or rules kobe bryant wouldn't simply get wrecked by a WW like victor ortiz

      he is not tommy hearns

now, if you said kobe is goign to fight tommy hearns, i'd start taking measurements for Kobe's casket

      but he's not
he's fighting 5'8" victor ortiz, whose best punch is a short right hook that would hardly reach kobe's chin.

like i said, in a boxing match i'm taking ortiz to pick him off and knock him out
but to assume that a street fight without rules is going to be won by default by a WW is foolish
that would be a serious proposition, and he shouldnt be favored by much
You're making yourself look ******er by the minute in continuing this farce about Kobe having any kind of chance versus Victor Ortiz in a street fight, much less a boxing match. I know that my comments made you defensive and you're pulling the oldest human trick in the proverbial book by trying to deflect (and writing with double spaced sentences which may add to your points' bank ), but you're fighting a losing battle. Go away on this one because arguing that a 6'7" finesse player, with a privileged upbringing from Philly to Italy to Philly due to having a daddy as a baller and never being in a real scrap in KB8 or KB24's life, can compete with a world class Boxer is utter, unadulterated nonsense. But I do want to thank you for the epiphany that dudes like you, with millions of B-Scene points, can get to that high-water mark by not really being a scholar; like watching a monkey use a tool for the 1st time and feeling both laughter and sorrow at what's unfolding before your eyes!

But to say that about Kobe & effing Victor is one of the silliest things I've ever heard: A basketball player that's been in maybe 5 skirmishes in his entire life versus a WORLD class boxer but hey, if it goes to the magical ground then it's anyone's fight; LMFAO! GTFOH with that pathetic logic of yours.
no, it works with any two people who go to ground during a physical altercation

believe it or not, in the real world there's no ref to separate the fighters and no barrier to pulling someone to the floor

WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON??????? Stop living in a video game world, young blood. If a regular male/man/dude goes to ground with a boxer on the world level, said male will get obliterated! Do you understand this basic human instinct? It's like learning, at 2 yrs old, the inherent principal that you don't put your hand on a stove because it will be VERY ****ING HOT and burn said toddler's hand to smithereens. I find myself more in a dad's role asking you to never (ever ever) pick a fight with someone that has trained in either boxing or another science, because it seems that you have no ****ing clue how the dynamics of combat goes down. Please young buck, even if you've trained in MMA on the weekends, don't go ****ing with someone that has serious boxing training; they'll put you to sleep even before you can think of your next ju jitsu move on the ground. **This message brought to you by a father of 2 boys versus just some guy on B-Scene replying as such**!!!!!!!!

I would just say this about the Ortiz/Kobe arguement. Used to train at a boxing gym for fun but the gym was filled with dudes training to become professionals in the sport. Some of these amateurs were really good fighters who got snuffed out as soon as they got in the ring with guys with a little more experience. There was a huge gap between these guys and normal guys on the street. Long story short fast forward to what we are talking about here- in one corner is a guy whose barely been in any fights in his life and in the other corner is a trained, professional, world class fighter with (despite questions of his heart) a reputation for being one of the strongest punchers in his division. Kobe wouldnt have chance

I agree with this post. People who think because they're in great shape they could fight are wrong. If you go to a boxing gym you'll see that even the small guys at 130 have a lot of crack behind their punches. I've seen these small guys knock down and even knock out guys who have 50 lbs on them.
