I don't think he was saying that, he was saying Kobe could pay someone else to beat Ortiz. Regardless, in a fight between the two imo if Kobe tries to stand and fight it's a straight KO by Ortiz but all bets are off if it goes to ground, boxing ability doesn't count so much on the deck (as James Toney found out).

This old cliche about "going to the ground, it's anyone's fight" only works if you're matching up a UFC fighter with a world class boxer (which you kinda did at the end with James Toney's apathetic match in the UFC that he only did for money anyway). that being said, you dont have to be a professional boxer to punch hard enough to hurt somebody

especially if they are that much smaller than you are (kobe is 6'6 and about 205 lbs)


i'd say it wouldn't be that far from an even fight on the street

in a boxing ring ortiz would probably pick him off and drop him quickly
