That's what I think he's doing.

By making a stink about fighting in Canada he might get Bute to sweeten the pot a little.

Why would Bute pay more for a guy no one really wants to pay to see? If Showtime wants to ante up, that's different. Bute shouldn't give up a dime and doesn't have to. Economically, he holds the cards and with foreign TV revenue could probably make more with Froch...

Don't believe Ward is with Haymon.

It remains to be seen what leverage he has without Haymon. He's not even rated by the IBF right now. If he wants to press for a Ward mando, he's positioned to do it after his brother. Froch-Bute is guaranteed action and Froch. Dirrell ain't. Hopefully, he just cleared the way for the better fight to get made.

Well good luck to them if they don't land on Showtime or HBO, cause this is one viewer they won't get live. I will of course download their fight from the trading block.

Good luck to Bute, he's under contract with Showtime(correct me I'm wrong) so Showtime pays him, meaning he has to fight who Showtime agrees with. And right now they're not agreeing with Froch.

Maybe for you the better fight is Bute vs Froch. But IMO Dirrell vs Bute is better. Froch should instead get a win or two, because right now he's coming off a loss.

Because Showtime has said no to a Carl Froch matchup. If Bute wants their money (and to get the fight he owes them over with) it has to be Dirrell.

Entertainment is also in the eye of the beholder. Dirrell's fight with Froch was ugly but he was dazzling in the Abraham fight in my opinion.

That said, Bute is certainly free to pursue Froch without Showtime's backing. And it seems that's what he might do.

He's coming off a loss to the best fighter in class and ran the whole gauntlet of the six, after two wars with Pascal and Taylor. He is a proven action commodity. Dirrell is spotty in that sense to say the least. It's easily the better, more entertaining option.

He came on as hard as he could late with Ward and Johnson was a war. I agree he tries to box more, but it's still fun to watch. Seriously, from a betting perspective, on paper the wager of which pair would make a better FIGHT is a no-brainer.

Dirrell and Froch are both guys who can push and possibly beat Bute for different reasons. Personally much rather watch Froch try if Ward-Bute can't happen now.

The alphabet soup rankings are meaningless anyway. Real boxing fans know who the best guys in the division are. Dirrell's performances in the Super Six show that he is one of them.

If you want to say that Froch is more deserving and more of an action fighter I won't argue that point. His resume is beyond reproach.
